'No Pee Zone' sign on the grass between sidewalk and road = Ugly neighbors

Would you have a problem if I brought my toddler over to pee on your plants? Because he would love to.

So you're raising your child to behave like an animal? I'm not surprised.

DP. And you are raising your pet feral?

They’re just trying to care for it. People know they don’t own it; they’re just trying to be good people. Some people are trying to get plants or grass seed started so that it looks nice and well cared for and dogs just destroy it.

Every jurisdiction, as far as I know.

Agreed OP, I always judge people who have enough time on their hands to buy and put up those signs. And I ignore them.

It's the easement, and I make sure my dog only pees there and never on lawns.

To me, the easement is fair game but lawns are not and I do get pissy, even as a dog owner, of anyone who lets their dogs up on my lawn. It just seems so rude!

On the flip side, some people take it too far. The neighbor down the street has signs up and a camera and will harass you every time you just WALK past his house. He has been a slumlord for years, finally moved into his slumlord s*hole, and now thinks he can come out with his big ass and protect the easement.

Sorry dude. No.

Better off putting up a sign indicating chemical treatment. I would actually avoid that as a pet owner.

I saw a sign like this just today while walking my dogs. I laughed and completely ignored it. I always pick up after my dogs, but asking them not to poop or pee on that stretch is ridiculous and not that person’s decision to make.

But take your obnoxious dog and have them go to the bathroom on any part of my landscape that I am responsible for and I’ll take action.

What action? It’s not your property.

No, they really don't. I'm a 52 year old and I'm a first time dog owner. i adopted him this year. Logically I knew this to be true. Male dogs cock their legs on a tree, a fire hydrant, a bush, or something of the sort to pee. But it never occurred to me that those little signs are actually a target for male dogs. Even my neighbor, who has had her two dogs for about 10 years, has a "no -pee" sign in her front garden bed. Her dogs are female, but still. I think it really does not occur to people.

In my neighborhood, NOBODY picks up their dog poop. Now that I have a dog of my own and am going on walks, I'm realizing how much of a problem this is. I even saw doog poop on the lawn of the neighborhood elementary school, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SIGN THAT SAYS THE FINE FOR NOT PICKING UP AFTER YOUR DOG. There is a small grass lot in-between two houses across the street from me where lots of people bring their dogs to do their business. I am so tempted to purchase a "scoop your poop" sign, but it's private property.

A lot of you are seriously outing yourselves as sociopaths with zero respect for others. Yes, the city owns it, but you know full well that the homeowner is tasked with caring for it. What is wrong with some of you? No wonder you like dogs better than you like people when you act the way you do.

Homeowners are not tasked with caring for it in my neighborhood. It’s considered a common area and the HOA contracted a landscaping company to maintain it. I don’t think we’re even allowed to place any signs there long term.

Oh well for sure your one HOA neighborhood where signs aren’t even allowed is the best example.

Doesn’t even matter who maintains it. Homeowners might shovel snow off sidewalks, but they can’t necessarily claim ownership. They may provide and maintain a mailbox, but they’re not allowed to use it for any purpose they want. In most jurisdictions, that strip of grass doesn’t belong to the owners of adjacent properties any more than the sidewalks or the streets do.

CCDC is full of these signs. They’re annoying, but I don’t let me dog potty there. I also actively avoid the neighbors who have those signs up, I just assume they’re extra high maintenance or anxious.
