Seriously... what is wrong with Maryland drivers? Is it a lawless state?

We were thinking of taking kids to new great wolf lodge up there but decided to go the Williamsburg one to avoid that part of Maryland.

We can hear that dog whistle loud and clear.

Maryland has substantially more Black drivers than northern Virginia. And when dcums are complaining about “Maryland drivers” - as I’ve seen first hand in carpool - they are ALWAYS talking about aggressive driving by a driver with MD tags who just happen to coincidentally be Black. 100% of the time.

You’re not hiding your racism, dcum. We see right through it.

You keep saying this in every post or comment about Maryland drivers, but it's so absurd. Oh, you had once carpool experience with people who were racist, so that means everyone who points out the insanity of MD drvers insane? You sound unhinged. I'm mixed, and most of the MD drivers I see behaving recklessly seem to be white, fyi. It's something about the state - it has nothing to do with their skin color.

Maryland has more Black drivers than northern Virginia. This isn’t open to debate - it’s a fact.

People ticketed for aggressive driving are most often younger males. In Maryland there is a greater likelihood that younger male will be Black. And it’s reasonable to predict that based on statistics, many of the aggressive drivers in Maryland are young Black males.

So yes, when you’re criticizing bad Maryland drivers, you’re most likely criticizing young Black male drivers.

Just acknowledge your racism and accept it.

Right?!?!

I wonder if this is the same dolt who claims she’s not racist but curiously always seems to say “Maryland drivers” when complaining about drivers who are predominately Black.

Yeah, we’re onto you, Hon.

I have lived in both NOVA and PG County MD. I am African American. PG drivers are nuts. Weaving in and out of lanes to try somehow get ahead in heavy traffic which is unrealistic. Lots of cell phone use while sitting in traffic. And yes, just lots of undereducated men driving around.

Enjoy going 60 in the left lane past the people going 58 in the right lane for hours on I-64!

I always assumed that Virginia drivers drive worse in Maryland and vice versa because they're so often lost, but the dumb shit Virginia drivers pull tends to be slow-motion idiocy and the dumb shit Maryland drivers pull tends to be high-speed aggression.

The worse drivers I've seen are in/around Philly.

I'm from New York state.

I’m from Maryland, and I posted earlier that Maryland drivers are awful. I’m starting to wonder, however, is there any place that drivers are generally good?

Heavy the crown of the richest state in the union. We don't even have to use blinkers. You hate what you can't do.

I learned to drive in Baltimore - my husband in NYC. He never lets me drive out kids because he thinks I drive like a maniac. It's just the Maryland way. Drive, or get the H out of our way.

I personally would rather be in MD traffic any day or night than drive in NoVa on the 66 and on the I-95 going south abomination drives!

DP - the PP may indeed be racist, but I'd like to very gently push back on the idea that one is racist if casting Maryland drivers as insane sociopaths without regard for life or limb. In my experience, the retired Chevy Chase set in their Priuses, the Rockville soccer moms in their Lexus SUVs, and the very important Potomac lawyers in their BMWs to be just as bad as the Altimas in Temple Hills with smashed bumpers and paper tags, or the stanced Honda Civics in Beltsville. They're all totally and irredeemably bonkers. It's completely endemic in the entire state of Maryland.

This x 1000. Northern Virginia is a hellscape of awful major highways. Give me Maryland any day.

Yeah, so what? Talk about black fragility. If people are acting like dick-bags, then they're acting like dick-bags. Are you suggesting we should excuse anti-social behavior because young black men "just don't know any better?"

Just gonna leave this here.

Maryland driver: improperly parked, leaves her 2 young kids in car on an incredibly hot day, then calls police to say her car was stolen. Discovered that it was towed instead.
