If you're missing assignments and critical content, I do have an issue with that. You have all summer (and don't give me crap about not . . . . I know LOTs and lots and lots of teachers and they do nothing but hang all summer, which is FINE btw. But their not training and doing lesson plans like the blathering I hear on here).

No one care about you or your AP DD.....and we will give you whatever "crap" we want. I'm sure you know LOTS of teachers(wink wink)just shut it.

I will not shut it. And you couldn't make me if you tried. You can "wink wink" all you want, and look silly so. But, what I've said is an absolute fact.

And as far as "not caring" that just shows what an unprofessional a-hole you are. So revel in it if you must. Just know that's what you are.

You’ve said zero facts and a meaningless word vomit full of opinions. Do you need to go back to third grade to learn the difference between fact and opinion?

And by the way, no one cares about your opinions.

Who is cheating their leave? They have the time and use it.

Sick leave is for when you are sick. Not when you want to travel to NYC.

Sure it is.

I'm sick of kids. And parents. And admins. And colleagues like you. I'm on the verge of exhaustion and a panic attack. I'm going to take a mental health day.

And I'm going to be wherever I please on that day. There's nothing you can do. Feel free to think that you're more professional than some of your fellow teachers. It does not matter.

Those that can’t do, teach.

Good. Enjoy homeschooling your kids, because putting them in the same room with those incompetents would make you a TERRIBLE parent.

Vote for leaders who will change the sick leave policy, then.

It does go both ways - you are a whiny, entitled, a$$wipe of a parent and person.

This is what I don’t get. If teachers as truly “unprofessional” and “unethical” and whatever other words have been said, why have them spend 8 hours a day for 10 months a year over 13 years. Geez. A good parent who TRULY felt this way would find a way to pay for private or homeschool.

Yeah let's give teachers ankle monitors that they have to wear while on sick leave.

That is sure to improve the state of public education in America.

I need the free childcare. But I make sure to correct the bs they learn and supplement at home, though.

There are indeed some terrible teachers. But generally speaking, the paltry amount of BS learning that takes place is the result of forces beyond teachers’ control.

I agree with you, OP. Take your days off and do not feel guilty.

The thread took a turn and you have three options regarding the update to parents.

1. Stop caring if you have errors and when strangers on here point out your grammatical and spelling errors.

2. Stop sending updates completely.

3. Use ChatGPT to write the emails.

Go back to school.

Good for you! Sounds like correcting the world doesn’t pay well though. Hopefully it gives you peace of mind!
