Teen got a bad grade, DH wants to take away her online shopping.

When I was a teen, I missed curfew and my dad banned me from the next school dance. Punishment correlated to the offense.

My friends, knowing that my dad was a big trivia nerd, challenged him to a game of Trivial Pursuit, and the stakes were that if they could beat him, I wouldn't be grounded anymore. He accepted, they won (barely) and I got to go tot the dance.

I learned nothing and proceeded to break curfew for years.

Maybe not helpful for this thread (though I do think the punishment should relate to the offense) but this thread reminded me of the story so I told it.
