Netflix: BEEF

I am halfway through and really liking it. I also like the side characters and their storylines - Isaac (such a hoot), Paul (so dishy) and George (can’t make him out at all)

I like that it’s set in LA and the main characters are all Asian American with nuanced references to their cultural upbringings. There are majorly Asian populations in cities like LA and San Francisco but you rarely see stories featuring them in lead role and I say this as someone who isn’t Asian myself

This show is like the Asian version of DCUM.

How old are these characters supposed to be? 40s mid 30s? I kept thinking the brother was much younger but he was only a few years younger than Danny. They acted like he was a young 20 something.

Late 30s to early 40s. The music alone gives it away. The younger brother is a lot younger. He is supposed to be in his mid 20s.

Um no. The two brothers were shown as little kids, maybe a 5 year age difference.

I assumed Danny and Paul were a little younger than Amy and George. I assumed Amy and George were more like early to mid 40s, Danny was like mid 30s and Paul was mid 20s. I thought there was more of an age gap between Danny and Paul but maybe that’s not the case?

Maybe even just 3 years apart. Little Danny said to little Paul something like, "you have to get really smart and skip 3 grades so we can be in the same grade. That's a good plan."

That broke my heart
