I hated 10. Their drug induced conversations were boring. Way too long. Didn't like this ending at all. |
| Episode 10 was so lame |
|
It is.
Steven Yeun is A list and can’t wait ti see what he does next |
I liked the show so much I was goigling. David Choe is a great artist. He did most of the art for the opening credits. He also did murals for Facebook when their building opened. He took stock options instead of cash. $200M now! |

Steven Yuen is the best actor. Ali Wong is not as good.
Also Maria Bello is good and annoying in everything. Shout out to her! |
He is AMAZING. |

Reviving this thread bc I'm halfway through and loving it.
Steven Yuen is incredible in it. |

Very late to this game - but we finally watched Beef and holy cow - it was so dark, intense, stressful, funny, STRESSFUL.
I loved it. I was on the edge of my seat through all of it. I didn't RELATE to it one iota but I really believed these people doing these terrible things. And that panic room scene was disturbing and also I was sort of relieved for Naomi that she was going to be done with Jordana - and hopefully was going to inherit a bunch. I actually liked the last episode. It felt like the appropriate ending. These two characters clearly needed each other - I thought it might end with them riding off into the sunset, but that wouldn't be this show, would it. |
I liked episode 10 too. Closing with his arm moving was a nice touch. Didn’t have to be a romantic thing, just two problematic/destructive people finding common ground. One thing that I thought was funny was that the closing music from pretty much every episode could have been on my .mp3 list from the 90s/00s. Whoever picked that out is in their 40s now. Mayonnaise by the Smashing Pumpkins as a closer was great. |
| I didn’t find it comedic and am pausing on the Vegas episode cause it’s stressing me a bit. Will continue tomorrow. I also did not find the Bear to be comedy (well maybe a bit more than this so far). |
Both Beef and The Bear are intense shows. I had to be in the right frame of mind to watch episodes. |
PP. I loved loves loved the Bear and didn’t need to be “prepared” to watch it. I didn’t feel stressed about it. I just would characterize it as a drama not a comedy. Beef is stressful and deals with negative energy and people who are acting-out and engaging in deviant and criminal behaviors. Who have mental illness in my opinion. Couldn’t watch and go to sleep and also can’t stop watching it to know how this ends. |
I’m maybe in episode 3.5 and it’s getting pretty dark and precarious. I don’t agree with the NextDoor hunt for the car drivers. I haven’t seen much survive a 48 hour news cycle on there. Naomi I can’t figure out why she was in Vegas, does she work with one of those two companies? |
It should ended after either episode 4 or 8. No reason to jump ahead 8 mos in the former, or keep going for episode 10. Just had to get deliberately philosophical. Isaac kept really moving the drama forward each and every time tho… |
It got very out there with the crime and pathological lying. So immoral and unethical and poor judgment. It didn’t bridge from the childhood of lying to not disappoint others. |
