I thing Kidman can always be relied upon to look great. I don't love 100% of her looks but she has very few pure misses. What she does is manage to keep her hair and makeup fresh. She really mixes it up.

Nicole Kidman is unrecognizable from her original face 20+ years ago.

I think her face looks much more normal tonight than it has recently. Wonder what she’s doing to it these days?

Yes, my exact thought -- I saw them one after the other and Mindy's is a big nope but Emily's is perfect. Like the detached sleeve on Emily's is just the right unusual detail to give it interest, whereas Mindy's has the detached sleeves with the extra fabric AND the mesh/boning/cutout AND bra top AND the peplums. Like what the heck is happening with that dress?

Stephanie Hsu in bubble gum pink (pink ballgowns at the oscars always make me think of Gwyneth's Shakespeare in Love win dress, though this actually fits the wear but the pink is less interesting):
