College Park mayor resigns

It is interesting how quickly his political allies and friends are disowning him and trying to memory hole their relationships with him.

That tends to happen to admitted pedophiles.

It is just horrifying to me that these men live among us, like wolves in sheeps clothing. 30 years ago if you had asked me, I would have said this is a very rare disorder. But after story after story like this comes out, it just doesn't seem that rare. It's not like lightening strikes. Clearly #notallmen -- but a much higher percentage of men than I'm comfortable with have really disturbing attractions. I feel bad for his wife, who likely had no idea.

A neighbor of mine (also a government attorney, fwiw) was arrested on similar charges.

What disturbs me most is that he is (because he’s still a neighbor, with a monitoring device) a nice guy. Very hard to reconcile with what’s clearly under the surface.

He is obviously and decidedly not a “nice guy”. You really need to reevaluate how you classify people.

Well, no sh*t. But on the outside, he’s not someone you’d identify as a predator, which is precisely what’s so scary.

What does that mean “on the outside”? What is a predator supposed to look like to you?

You need to closely watch any man who seems to have a “creepy” interest in children, as men are overwhelmingly the ones who sexually assault children. Always be vigilant. I would not allow a man to be alone with my child under any circumstances.

Creepy people are creepy. Stop male bashing.

Again, I would never risk allowing any man to be alone with my child. My child’s safety takes priority over anything else, especially someone’s hurt ego over “male bashing”.

Wake up, people.

Misandry. Do you look forward to your male child being reviled? At what age does the perversion and violence kick in?

Yes. This. This is yet another case of a scummy pedophile who seemed like a nice guy that no one gave much thought about. Just a reminder that the successful pedophile does not attract attention from their outsides. The people most likely to be hurting your kids are those given opportunity alone with them, which means they seem ok on the outside, and probably even wonderful.

Pediphiles always display red flags. If you don’t know what they are, go learn.

I just don’t find this credible. It is one thing if it is someone that is an acquaintance or neighbor that you don’t know well. But if you do know them well, then this kind of stuff starts to seep out over time. I don’t find it credible that everyone that knows Wojahn can act surprised. And he knows a lot of people.

We exclusively used male babysitters are females are far more likely to commit violence against children.

Charged does not mean convicted.
