Personally, as an East Asian, I want to know where I can find other Asians in DC. Any ideas?

Chinatown DC or Pimmit Hills, VA

There haven’t been Chinese people living in Chinatown in decades.

Rockville, Poolesville, Clarksburg, Potomac -- have you seen the amount of Aisan eateries in Rockville?

Centreville in VA

-signed an East Asian

What about inside DC the city?

All of DCPS is 2% Asian and 3% 2 or more races. But the neighborhoods nearest the Embassies of Asian countries have a higher number of Asian families, and the public schools reflect this, particularly the Murch/Hearst area near the Chinese Embassy and Stoddert near Embassy Row.

ES:
Murch 11%, 6% 2 or more
Stoddert 9%, 7% 2 or more
Hearst 8%, 13% 2 or more
Eaton 7%, 10% 2 or more
Mann 7%, 3 % 2 or more
Janney 4%, 10% 2 or more
Key 4%, 9% 2 or more
Hyde-Addison 4%, 8% 2 or more
Lafayette 3%, 7% 2 or more

MS:
Hardy 6%, 7% 2 or more
Deal 4%, 6% 2 or more

HS:
Jackson-Reed 5%, 4% 2 or more

That's still bupkis compared to some of the schools in MoCo and Fairfax with much larger Asian enrollments.

That wasn't part of the question.

It provides context for the answer.

Except it isn’t a pyramid. Feeds to mostly non white schools

West Virginia or Stafford county. Full of rednecks that op will love.

You want to know if any "enclaves of caucasians" remain "intact"? Go f'ck yourself. This is expliclty racist. Why don't you just ask about replacement theory next. Do you have fond memories of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville?

I'd ask if Jewish enclaves count, but we already know the answer to that.

The Asians in Pimmit Hills are mostly South Asian - Indians who work in IT in Tysons.

Any similar Area in MD?

We’re at janney and there are enough kids with at least 1 East Asian parent that my kids don’t feel totally out of place. Few to no parents are first gen though if that’s what you’re looking for

Not OP but I don't see the issue with this question. As a non-white person, I would want to avoid living in areas (or sending my kids to schools) that are very white.

I don't understand how you can actually admit this - this is such a clear cut example of racism if I've ever seen one. And yes, racism against whites is a real thing - case in point.

Can you imagine if someone said out loud or in this forum "as a white person I would want to avoid living in areas (or sending my kids to schools) that are very black, brown, or Asian"?!

It IS NOT OKAY!!!!!

It is not the same. POC are vastly outnumbered in most institutions that have a foundation and history in catering to white people. You can be upset about people trying to make sure their Black kid doesn't get lost in a school or neighborhood but I would be more upset that it still matters.

And so further segregating yourself and your children is how you should be living your lives? Is pushing for this way of living making a big step in a positive direction towards ending racism? Because you are actually being racist yourself.

So I should send my kid somewhere where he’s the only minority and he like why do I look different? No thanks

Oh come on!! I don't know of any school in the immediate area that is not multicultural! Public or private. Stop perpetuating this BS just to push your narrative and agenda, whatever they may be.

“Multicultural”? There are some schools that aren’t very diverse. That’s a fact. I’m a “diverse” parent looking for diversity. How is that ridiculous?

It provides context to a question that wasn't asked.

You need to be in CC or Bethesda. You probably can’t afford it.

Severna Park High School. It’s 80% white.

How is it segregation to want my kid to have a few kids in his class who look like him. How is that being racist? Nothing you’re saying makes sense to me.

The original post asked for areas, not pyramids

I had heard that particular elementary school has a reputation as strongly majority white, which means the neighborhood surrounding it likely is as well

I was honestly just answering the question with no judgment one way or another
