Yeah, we know you and your ilk enjoy seeing innocent people killed. |
LA just elected a female black mayor. Keep going. |
That is because you are a white woman, and you sit comfortably in the fact that this will likely never happen to you and yours. So you can sit in your bubble and make judgements knowing that you will suffer nothing near the same. |
Shocked and appalled by PPs defending the police action. Clearly police force overkill.. The man was begging for his life. He said OK to not twisting them and they kept tasering him. There were six armed officers and one unarmed man on the ground. Watch the video for yourself. I am white and this is not OK. I am not anti police or defund the police but or rain the police longer as in countries where police have good community relations because they know how how to judge when lethal force is necessary. |
‘Make judgements’ ummm how do you know this poster is a white woman? |
Weird how you reply to this post with the same sentence structure as the “op”……… |
There are about 1000 cues in her language that would indicate the same. I don't know how anyone watching that video can feel anything other than sorry for Keeanan. He was never a threat. He had his hands up the whole time, was engaging, and was clearly scared. He complied with the officer in the beginning then realized that something could happen to him and wanted to be in public view in case something went sideways. He needed someone to talk him down not 5 officers on top of him tasing him. This was a clear training failure. |
The police made this a crisis by framing the incremental ways in which he failed to respond immediately to their orders into an emergency requiring Tasing.
They lost track of the fact that the entire reason they were interacting with him was because *he had asked for their help.* Absolutely disgusting. |
You don't think he died 5 hours after his interaction with police at a hospital (npt in custody) an important fact in this case? |
You have zero way of knowing what his cause of death was until after the autopsy. |
Not the OP - was correcting my own post But I agree with OP and others who argue this excessive police force is plain wrong. You don’t have to be black to recognize that many POC have valid reasons to fear for their lives when driving while black. I doubt a white man who ran a red light or failed to indicate would fear these kinds of unintended consequences. I can’t imagine how painful it is for black mothers to have to prepare their children for these dark possibilities when going about every day life. I am pro police because obviously we need them - but all for better and longer training - preferably named for victims of driving while black. That would be a win win for a tragic ongoing situation. |
True. |
I'm not OP and I think this was abhorrent conduct by the police. |
It’s so unnecessarily inflammatory that people are calling it an “execution.” A taser is supposed to be a non-lethal method. If they had wanted to “execute” him, they all had service revolvers they could have used. The fact that he died later after being tased does not make their intentions lethal. |
I did. There was no crime. Non need to detain. No need to handcuff, he was free to go. This is why cops need to never respond to these things, they totally escalate |
