I am not OP and merry corrected my own post. Anyone with half a brain can see the leave of police force was unjustified and wrong - like your accusation that anyone who agrees with OP must be OP. |
I don’t know how anyone who watched the video could justify the police actions. It was shocking. Unarmed man on the ground and begging for his life and saying OK when told not to resist - and they still tasered him. Inhumane and plain wrong. |
Exactly. |
The man literally ran out into traffic. Do you not get that? Watch the video again. If the police had not intervened (as you propose) they would have been guilty of negligence. The police acted properly here. It is unfortunate Mr. Anderson decided to take extreme amounts of mind altering drugs, and then drive around busy public streets (before he caused an accident). |
Exactly the opposite you mean - the video showed how unjustified and excessive the use of lethal force was |
"you sit comfortably in the fact that this will likely never happen to you and yours. So you can sit in your bubble and make judgements knowing that you will suffer nothing near the same." What that a family member who is a teacher, its the middle of a school day and they are high on cocaine and weed, causing car accidents by running in the middle of the road, and not obeying police instruction? Yeah, don't think that will happen. Also, why are you ASSuming the poster is white? That's called a "judgement." POT meet kettle. |
Wonder how fast you would change your tune if it is was one of your unarmed ones lying on the ground being tasered by six armed police officers? On what planet is this considered professional conduct for police ? Russia? North Korea? Syria ? Most of us prefer to derive our standards for professional police conduct to functioning democracies with low crime rates |
DP And how do you know Keenan was high on drugs? Erratic behavior can be caused by many things. This is an anonymous forum and unless posters indicate personal details, we cannot know. Even then we don’t know. |
I'm sad by some of the posters here where in 2023 there is no personal responsibility or accountability for any personal actions and this is now acceptable to most of society. This man, a teacher who teaches kids, was high on cocaine, weed, who knows what else, causing car accidents in the middle of the road yet he will somehow be named a hero. |
THERE WE GO you didn't even watch the video, the whole video because if you did you would know they went over which drugs where in his system from the hospital tests. You were off to the races without even knowing the full story. It makes sense now. |
He needed and EMT not a cop. When cops respond to medical emergencies it is likely going to go badly. Everybody needs to implement this. https://www.denvergov.org/Government/Agencies-Departments-Offices/Agencies-Departments-Offices-Directory/Public-Health-Environment/Community-Behavioral-Health/Behavioral-Health-Strategies/Support-Team-Assisted-Response-STAR-Program#:~:text=The%20Support%20Team%20Assisted%20Response%20%28STAR%29%20Program%20deploys,mental%20health%20issues%2C%20poverty%2C%20homelessness%2C%20and%20substance%20abuse. |
How did the cops receive the hospital tests before he went to the hospital. It's could have been a medical/mental health issue. They really just don't know how to handle these situations and it should be handled by something like STARS in Denver. |
What a social worker coddling him and rocking him like a baby before intervening? Be reasonable the was high ok coke, acting erratically, causing car accidents and running into the street. A group of cops couldn't get him cuffed without tasing him because of the coke and you think someone else would have worked better? lol yeak, ok. |
I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you are a white male. I'm also going to assume that you were a Trump voter. You might think that the election was stolen. Am I warm? |
Again, you miss the point. He should be in jail and not dead. That is what EVERYONE is saying. And there are hundreds of examples of erratic white drug users who are safely taken into custody by the police. That is what is at issue. It can be done but it's only done under certain circumstances. |
