The anti-trans, anti etc issues did not hurt them. Election denialism and abortion did. If Republicans can neutralize the election denialism, by not nominating the orange fool, the scenario is different. This election was not a repudiation of Republicans social positions and it is a mistake to think it was.

The abortion issue absolutely killed Rs in this election. And it is not going to magically go away. If you dont change your tune and offer pro choice candidates that have a pro choice record, you are giving up massive numbers of votes.

And for what? No one even really believes this hard core anti-abortion candidates really care that much.....they just say that because they think it gets votes. And they are largely wrong. So fix it .. Find some pro choice republican candidates and fast.

I don't disagree wirh you at all. But if nothing happens on that front then people will start to forget. Not all the people but enough people. If that happens then the dumb ass cultural issues matter. Democrats need to remember the lessons of 2021 and not overreach. These last two elections were not pro-progressive they were anti-maga.

If you had been paying attention then you would understand thZt this was anything but a nationalized election. There were a multitude of issues, including catatrophically bad candidates in statewide elections. Abortion rights was a factor, albeit in some places more than others such as Pennsylvania, but don’t sell Oz snd Mastriano short in terms of political incompetence.

Playing not to lose won’t result in victory. The democratic establishment is more concerned about progressives than winning. And yet unabashedly progressive candidates performed well because they understood their base constituencies.

THIS. Frankly, I'm glad that there wasn't a sweep, from either party. I think there needs to be a balance. I'm a pro-choice Republican but I'm also sick to death of the absurd social issues. I would very much like a return to the center.
