If your callouses are thick, you’ll need to use the cheese grater foot file every few weeks. Most pedicure just use a pumice stone and I can do a better job with the foot file. Don’t overdo it. The urea creams help you maintain but aren’t a substitute.
If there is a magic solution that doesn’t require regular manual exfoliation, I’d love to hear it. |
| I’m lazy and gave up on creams and socks, but using a cheese grater like thing on my feet in the shower has done wonders. Not some pumas stone - a thing that looks like the same thing we use on Parmesan. They certainly aren’t perfect but they are not embarrassing. |
| I read an article saying that you should always wear socks - with shoes and also on the carpet. If you don't then your feet lose moisture. And if you are wearing shoes with no socks then your feet are bathing in too much moisture. So I starting wearing socks more and that has really helped - along with getting more pedicures, using the foot grater in the shower and using lotion at night. |

Based on DCUM, I used Baby Feet and was amazed at the results! I tried other brands but didn't have nearly the same success with them as with Baby Feet. But, as PPs have noted, it takes a while and there's a lot of peeling. I follow a dermatologist on social media who was talking about foot health and she suggested using Glycolic Acid on a regular basis. I started doing it because it's really my heels that need the attention. I actually want to keep some of the calluses on my toes because I hike a lot and need the thickened skin.
I apply The Ordinary's glycolic acid a couple times a week and then put on some heavy moisturizer. My heels are GREAT! https://www.sephora.com/product/the-ordinary-deciem-glycolic-acid-7-toning-solution-P427406?country_switch=us&lang=en&skuId=2031508&om_mmc=ppc-GG_18532081096_140015651217_pla-1817965592338_2031508_626820665498_9008141_c&gclid=CjwKCAjw79iaBhAJEiwAPYwoCH_wzu7O4lgE4IqMbF7Ab051LHlxTL7uMd8a8Wz9cMK2_QXpa_8KHRoCgfoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds |
Yes. Lol I had even arranged my schedule and footwear around the possibility of peeling like a snake. No peeling at all. None. |

Agree with a round of baby foot, maybe even two for very deep cracks, and then maintain with urea cream as often as needed.
But i would head to the doctor and get your A1C checked, blood sugar issues are known to cause stubborn dry cracked feet. |
| If you’re interested in getting the Amope foot File, get the rechargeable one. When I bought mine, I could only find it at Target. |
+1 Vaseline or cream with urea, and then socks. |
| Baby Foot Peel. The original one. Soak feet in water before using the peel. Soak foot in water each day until the peel is complete. NOTHING works as fast, magically and completely as this peel. |
| O’Keeffe’s Healthy Feet. Use a little nightly and they’ll be smooth in a week |
This is the answer. Do not walk around barefoot either. |
| I use an electric callus remover a couple times a week in the winter, less often rest of year. I had prescription lotion from the derm--that did nothing and tried all the other things. the best cream i found was Cortizone 10 Intensive Healing Lotion and put it on twice a day. I will add that I had absolutely horrible feet for like 7 years, and only in the winter--so bad that the derm wanted to take a biopsy but i didn't do it bc i was going on a cruise the following week and didn't want an open wound....one week in hot weather and the feet started improving so i never went back and then the feet started improving a bit over the subsequent years...i think it's hormonal, frankly... |
| I tried Baby Feet but had only an okay result. The only thing that works for me is taking a long bath and then using the cheese grater on the heels immediately after. |

I've tried all of the above, but have been using and loving this lately:
https://jonesroadbeauty.com/products/hippie-stick It has a bit of a minty smell, but I don't mind it. Put it on at night and then wear socks awhile before bed, but it's absorbed into my feet enough to take the socks off to sleep. Huge improvement overnight after the first application. No matter what works for you, you have to keep on it. |
| Those who swear by Baby Foot, how often do you repeat it? I’m trying it for the first time but wondering what to expect with maintenance. |
