| OP, please let us know how this turns out. Public opinion seems to be that YOU are the one in the wrong, but you're not accepting it. (So glad you're not my neighbor.) |
|
I had a neighbor like you. She was noisy, came to scream on my door, accused me to do some things on purpose, and told lies about me to other neighbors who knew me from years. She even lied to a police officer who came per my request.
She used to do all sorts of stupid things to get attention. |
She needs to dig out her survey prepared when the fence permit was pulled. |
OP doesn’t have a survey done to prove the neighbor wrong. The husband tried to calm her down with logic but here she is. |
| Reminds me of Episode 1 of The Watcher |
| Takes one to know one |
We have a neighbor like that too and keeps trying to take our property. One did and its so frustrating. Then they lie and tell all kinds of terrible things to other people about us who have no clue as we keep to ourselves. |
yep. this. the survey tells you who pays, doesn't matter whose fence you think it is. the fence is owned by the person whose property it is on. |
Boundary surveys in DC, the kinds that are needed for fences, actually cost thousands of dollars. The survey that is done when you buy a house is not a true boundary survey. |
$400 is a lot of money and rich people don’t get rich and stay rich by letting people take advantage of them. |
I think y’all who would let this go are the nutty ones. |
| $400 is not worth a bad/worse relationship with your neighbor. Always be careful with neighbors. |
Wut? Did you watch your kids? Did you brandish firearms? Let’s hear her side….. |
Don’t you always have the option to pay for the more expensive survey, as early as the time of purchase? Each time we have purchased a SFH, we sprang for the most detailed survey. OP, don’t you have that? |
| OP You should be aiming towards the landscaper who is far more likely to respond. |
