Who says that he has a 100% disability? It is certainly not the VA or the court. |
She did already. She tweeted: "It is appalling to be attacking Veteran families, especially after the corresponding agency has verified the legitimacy of the earned benefits bestowed by the State."
|
Are you claiming that an official opinion of the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims is a “gives a false accusation”? |
What agency is she referring to and when did that confirmation occur? |
Then it seems the ball is in the court of the accuser to put up or shut up. Or indeed this is much adieu about nothing. |
Just like the Homestead Exemption, the rules for the Veterans Disability Exemption are clear. The VA has determined that her husband does not have a 100% disability and this was confirmed on appeal. At minimum she should not receive the exemption from the date of the appellate opinion and because the appeal confirms the judgement of the 30% disability in 2020, between 2020-2022 there should have been no award of benefits either due to eligibility. Saying the “corresponding agency has confirmed…” is total nonsense and deflection from the facts at issue.

Which approach works better?
Wes Moore: My water bill? My bad. It was an oversight and I am correcting it. Natali Fani-Gonzalez: My property taxes? You have no right to attack me and even though I seek public office, I owe no disclosure obligations to anyone. These are ableist attacks on how my family received benefits that public records indicate I should not be entitled are are disgusting and shameful. |
Wow. This story is not going away. |

This court doc talks about one part of the body, the shoulder. You don't have the full picture of his medical history to see what else is happening. The State/County would have immediately removed his property tax exemption if the Vet did not longer qualified. This vet still shows that he has the exemption as he is 100% disabled. My son is disabled and I pray for him every day that he won't deal with people like you all, always judging without knowing facts. Stop and think what's happening here. I can't imagine how her husband must be feeling; attacking his wife due to his disability and the fact that he used his EARNED benefit to protect his family. What a gross group of people. I'm done here.

30 + 30 + 20 + 30 = 110%. Case closed. |
None of the things you have posted are accurate. First, the appeals court opinion does not only talk about the shoulder (hint: you need to read the footnotes in legal documents). Second, there is not automatic mechanism by which the VA transmits this information to the state and the county. Like the Homestead Exemption and in fact all other taxes, it requires self-reporting. |
| My boyfriend is a producer for a local outlet. The county has an office that deals with property taxes and he was able to confirm that there is no investigation going on and that the property tax exception is accurate. End of story. |
Well certainly she is not but I assume they comingle finances and pay their property taxes as a unit seeing as they are a cohabiting couple. Surely she should have known better in this incident or at a minimum knew her husband is crap with money and not to trust that he would take care of the property taxes honestly and truthfully... His financial mismanagement means nothing until it also effects a join venture such as their property taxes. On another note, please spill the tea on her husband's mismanaged financial history. 😂 |
This is not self-reporting. You are wrong on this.

30 + 30 + 20 + 30 = 110%. Case closed.
The way VA combines multiple disabilities is more complicated than just adding them up. 30+30+30+20 is a 70% combined rating. https://www.va.gov/disability/about-disability-ratings/ |
