I am speechless.

What was the item?

Let me get my fiddle!!!

A black woman asked if she could have it and also asked if the giver would drop it off because the recipient had no car. The giver said yes. The giver messaged the recipient to say she left the diaper genie outside of the recipient’s apartment building because she couldn’t find the apartment number and had left her toddler in the car. The black woman then complained about the interaction on the Buy Nothing page because she considered it rude of the white woman to leave the diaper genie outside where it could have been stolen. Everyone in the group then agreed that the white woman was racist and committed a micro aggression by not delivering it to the door.

Wow. Part of me thinks this is a troll post, but the other part could definitely see this happening. We definitely have “full service” cases in our group and I just don’t pick them. Not everyone has a car, but most people have feet. If I have to drop off I’m going to Goodwill.

That beats my peeves! Micro-agression my ass! People have lost their minds.

I was going to say that no shows are rude and so are people who only say "interested". Rude.

That's the same for my group.

I post pictures of very desirable things (think large Tupperware bins for sweaters, wrought iron patio furniture, boxes of lightbulbs, etc.) as free and then never answer the responses.

I don't even have the things, but I like making people scramble!

There is someone like this in the Alexandria buy nothing group.

On my group we have people who offering things up but they insult everyone and say, "don't be a pig and sell this on ebay." Everytime they post they call everyone a pig. That person really pisses me off.

What I find weird is that I see the same names popping up to claim item after item....makes me wonder if some folks are just trying to resell and make a buck?

We have folks giving away stuff that's been expired three years ago!

Rude!

I am over the free cycle thing. I have friends who wait for my daughter's clothes and toys. They appreciate them. I hardly ever want free stuff as my husband does not like re-used things. I mainly use it to declutter and had a few no-shows so I just donated it. NO biggie.

I hate the no shows. I wanted to get rid of something quickly. Lots of interest. First two people I picked were no shows. Took me 3 days to get rid of it. I do SpeedGift a lot now because of it. If you can come now, it’s yours.

I once gave away a crib. The person (friend of our nanny) showed up with his very pregnant wife in a tiny sedan. I could not believe it. What were they thinking? It obviously would not fit. I was so bewildered but I just made a decision that this was going to happen. I got to work, disassembled it, put it in my minivan, drove to their apt complex 20 min away in another state!), unloaded it, explained how to reassemble it. I didn't want another clueless person to show up. I just wanted to be done with it.

Our group had a woman that must have been a hoarder. She wanted everything. I think she finally got removed because she didn’t give anything, she only took. Our mods were great.
