My impression was Blair does a great job integrating everyone. |
| Blair has multiple lunches. |
Work for the schools much? Man you are really drinking the cool aide. Look, I like my kids high school (not Blair) but I don’t feel the need to rep for it. What is the motivation besides astroturfing for MCPS?! |
Some people like their kids' schools and want to counter some of the DCUM hate |
Ya, and also half the point of this board aside from reading the nutty posts is to share our experiences so others may benefit. |
| Blair has 1 lunch |
I don’t work for the school. I’ve had kids from outside the DCC go to Blair, and we really like it. That’s it. Someone was asking about how big it is. Yes, it’s HUGE, the largest in the state. But it doesn’t feel that way (except for the parking). |
Just ignore them. It's that same troll who accuses anyone who disagrees with them of being a shill. |
Nope. The entire high school has 5th period lunch. This is the time for clubs, movies in the auditorium, make-up tests/redoing assignments, etc, or just hanging out. |
NP: Yeah. They can't even spell Kool Aid right! I am a former Blair parent and agree that it is very well run. If not in a magnet, clubs & sports are a great way to get to know people and make it feel smaller. I was always impressed with the diversity and demeanor of students when I would volunteer for things. As to the lunch Q from another person, they used to have several lunches but went to one lunch in 2019 I think. It seemed like a crazy idea at the time but worked out OK. The longer lunch allowed for lunch clubs and for kids to get work done. |
One lunch now. That makes it easier for clubs to meet at lunch and for students to meet with teachers during lunch. |
