It sounds like the MAJ had serious mental health issues during the time when she came out as trans. The Russian spouse will be very useful for a prisoner swap. The American Soldier spouse will find housing accommodation at Leavenworth for a decade or two.

Who knows. We treat "trans identity" like a monolith but it's really not, and for some people it's a phase. Who knows with her specifically, tho.
