FL is more south now than during Civil War. Just look at what they are doing.

What exactly are "they" doing that you refer to so cryptically?

Yeah, i'm curious too. Florida is doing some bonkers stuff lately that i strongly disagree with. But ironically, it is not "southern" nasty stuff (in the vein of Alabama and Mississippi, southern strategy kind of stuff). This stuff is urban GOP New Jersey/New York stuff.

What “stuff?”

I lived in Georgia, Jacksonville, and Miami. Miami was the most superficial. I want to move back to Athens, Georgia. All of those places have nicer and more down-to-earth people compared to DC and Philadelphia. I would love to get the hell out of here. In Jax, I was rich! I could walk to barre classes and the outside mall. My apartment looked like a resort. We were 15 minutes from the beach, and beach parking was free. There was a fantastic indoor kids' gym. It was like Montessori but you stay with your child. I met a lot of stay-at-home moms. The food in Miami was so good! I'm so happy I had a chance to live in Florida.

Athens GA is a rare hippy oasis in the middle of the Deep South.

Florida is not only part of the south it's the best part of the south!

There is no place in the world that people visit more than Florida and that goes double for DCUM people.

You don't know what the Redneck Rivera is? It's the panhandle.

Although not from the redneck riviera, Lynyrd Skynyrd is from Jacksonville, named after their gym teacher.

I am proud to say I am not from the south.

It’s so funny when northerners are so proud of their parochialism.

It’s so funny when people forget just how big and how regional this country is.

Than why is there Florida man?

It’s a very heterogeneous stats. The northern part of the state near the Georgia border is, as you'd expect, a lot like Georgia.

I have visited Atlanta. Many times.

What exactly do you mean by that comment?

Florida…ugh. Just no. Like, why? Why live there? Terrible heat 10 months a year, dumb/old/obese people, terrible food, hurricanes, and some of the worst of the Republicans.

If you are representative of the intelligence of people outside of Florida, I'll take Florida. I haven't met anyone as ill informed, narrow minded, or ignorant as you in Florida yet.

Now I know you’re just flat out lying. I am a Florida native. It is well known and openly acknowledged that Florida collects and breeds some really f’d up people.
