I tell my daughter about Georgetown Park all the time!
they had a real Abercrombie and fitch there before it became a young people’s thing .

I still have a very warm flannel jacket from there. DD found it and took it. One day she looked at the label and told me that jacket was not A&F. I tried to explain old A&F but I don’t think she believed me.

I remember both. I also remember Garfinkle's, Hecht's, and Woodward and Lothrop. I'm really old! When I was at George Washington there was a cafeteria with religious prayers at each table but the food was good and cheap. I don't remember the name. Anybody go back that far?

Before my time, but Sholl's.

I remember Sholl’s. There was also a great burger place by GWU. It was located in the basement and there would be a line out the door. Lindy’s?

Was Garfinkel's the fancy department store at the end of G'town Park? There was a mexican restaurant on the top floor there and the houston's on Wisconsin! I worked in a wearable art store on the first floor of the mall next to the Mrs. Fields cookie shop

The main store was downtown on G and a Street (?).

Now that brings back memories! I’ve been trying for the last half hour to remember the name of the store near Britches that sold earnest dress-for-success clothes in the late 80s. I bought at least one outfit involving a pleated skirt and matching jacket. Can anyone remember?

Picture of Garfinkle's. It was on F St. I loved this store. It smelled expensive. I had a summer job there and they gave me my first credit card.

There was also a small Garfinkel’s in Spring Valley.

The building has a fast fashion store now. Something like Zara or H&M.

Scholl's.

They had an amazing selection of delicious pies. That's what I remember the most.

The burger place was delicious. I used to get the grilled hot dogs with guacamole, one of their selections.

President Ford supposedly dropped by for hamburgers on a regular basis.
