Are most or all of the division one teams in the older ages actually year round AAU teams?

Not true with our county . There are some AAU kids but it's a mixed bag as not all AAU players opt to play county

No. I’d say half or in most cases, less than half. The consist of lots of players who are multi sport athletes. If a team has all AAU players, look out!

This is 3x-5x more than just playing rec--can anyone whose gone from rec to FCYBL comment on their thoughts about that price point and if they thought the experience was worth it over just doing rec? thanks

$350-$450 is just insane. We went from rec ($50) to FCYBL ($160 plus uniform). If they are asking $350, they are ripping you off. Are some FCYBL teams paying coaches?

I think Vienna is $380. They charged 140 initially. After you make the team hit you up for the rest. Fairfax police club used to be something like $150.
Where is rec $50? That’s a bargain

$50 for rec!? How does that cover ref fees, gym fees, jerseys. etc?
$50
Is what the kids on free lunch pay for our league. Everyone else $160.

CYA charges a lot bc they are trying to pay for Fieldhouse. We practiced in ES gyms only though, seemed suspect.

CYA owns the Fieldhouse

No they aren’t paying coaches, they are just running the travel teams similar to AAU teams are run, and they no parents are paying ridiculous amounts of money for AAU. They are trying to get in on the money grab too

Right, and it is a money loser with a lot of carrying costs.

Where is rec $50?

Have selections been made for select teams yet? We tried out for a couple and still no word.

OK, $50 was wrong. I was working from memory and that is clearly not the case. Carry on.

If they completed try-outs the first week of October or earlier this werk, your child didn't make the team or is a back-up plan. Almost everywhere
tries to get their offers out ASAP because they feel like they are competing with other orgs for the best players.
