Buskers are scammers now too. So many pretending to play. |
My claim: Rudy could start to redeem himself by volunteering to help clean up Baltimore. |
Ah, the idiot devil's advocate with nothing worthwhile or smart to say. |
| There should be a fine on panhandling at intersections and on stopping to give money. Its dangerous for everyone. |
If it’s so dangerous where are the stats? I don’t stop to give money. I give money when I am stopped at a red light. |

Really hate to say I agree with Trump, but he’s right on this:
“‘Open up large parcels of inexpensive land in the outer reaches of the city,' Trump said of his plan for the homeless, calling his real estate developer background into the forefront. 'Create thousands and thousands of high quality tents.' He said it was the 'only way you're going to remove the hundreds of thousands of people, and maybe throughout our nation millions of people,' referring to the homeless. 'It can be done in one day,' Trump said. He also boasted about having the Secret Service round up homeless encampments in the nation's capital as president and suggested doing so again, stating: 'I’d send people out immediately. Secret Service, by the way, did a phenomenal job.'” |
Totally agree. Enough, already. |
There are some buskers who are legit. As opposed to things like the spackle bucket drummers who were fun to watch the first time but then you realize there are 57 more of them and they are all tapping out the same stale old beat for hours and hours with hardly any variation or anything interesting. And don't even get me started on those fake monks around the national mall. It's gotten to where they turn around and go the other way when they see me coming. |
The President has the Marine Band, aka “the President’s Own.” The DC Mayor has the the Spackle Bucket Drummers. |
So, like a permanent Burning Man but with mental illness and without the money? |
I was just in NY and some of the big headlines were the panhandlers on major roads and medians and how dangerous it was. |
There is a man who panhandles everyday at the Bradlee Center McDonalds on King Street in Alexandria. He lives across the street in the bushes which is across the city/county line in Arlington. In those bushes he’s accumulated so much trash, including countless beer cans, a traffic cone and a red propane tank. When it gets windy the trash just blows all over the place. When he’s in the bushes, he’s usually standing there drinking beer (often with one foot in traffic). When he’s across the street in Alexandria at McDonalds, he’s at the end of the drive through lane right after you pay and collect your food. He’s filthy, usually drunk. Neither Alexandria nor Arlington will do ANYTHING about him. I’ve contacted both jurisdictions and they say there is nothing they can do. Why is he allowed to litter like that? And you know he’s probably peeing/pooping in those bushes as well. Those poor people in Fairlington whose house/yard backs up to the bushes where he’s living. It must smell awful. I don’t know how he hasn’t died of exposure, alcohol poisoning or been hit by a car. And now sometimes there is a second person begging at the McDonalds (a woman with a rolling suitcase who I believe lives off of the 395/King Street exit ramp bc we saw her yesterday walking around there). We drive down King several times a day and the man is always there, always, and now often the woman. |
He is too drunk to get out of bed. His brain is fried. |
You have it backwards. The Fairfax county study found the big spike started in mid 2019. And the data also show most of this is organized gangs of illegals. VA portion is generic homeless, but the majority and the growth of it is illegals. Thankfully it has been flat in Virginia trhe past year, with growth only in Fairfax, Arlington and Alexandria ("sanctuary cities"). Also the ACLU has fought local authorities attempting to control this |
