I thought that too. I didn’t get it my last 3 trips, didn’t get it when unmasked, unvaccinated students got it, didn’t get it when my spouse did. 4 days in to my current vacation it got me. Had to extend my trip because we are quite sick . My kid who was also lucky the past 2.5 years also got it. |
Which are completely useless. Everyone's circumstances are different, yet apparently this requires crowd sourcing. |
And I bet you don't test either. It's highly probably you were positive asymptomatic on at least once occasion, and spread it to others. Highly irresponsible. |
| We have traveled both international and domestic this year- staying at resorts, in addition to road trips (car/hotel) and never got covid. Our kids had to test for school so we know for sure. The only thing is, we do not dine indoors. |
| I have traveled extensively in the U.S., to the Caribbean, and two separate trips to South America recently in April and May (for which I tested going and coming) and have never gotten COVID. I do wear KN95 masks pretty consistently (in airports, airplanes, taxis, etc.), except when dining. |

We just came back from a week at Disneyland and in LA for vacation, and didn't get covid.
Last summer, we went on a month long road trip, driving from here to San Diego and back, and didn't get covid. However, we did mask religiously, avoided exceptionally crowded indoor places, and didn't eat indoors at all. We also did a Disney cruise in February 2022, but that was after just getting over covid about 3 weeks before (which was the reason for the cruise--capitalizing on our newfound immunity). We actually got covid not from traveling but from DS3, who brought it home from daycare in January and gave it to the other five of us in our house. |
| I’ve flown to the west coast a few times, also various places in the south including a week at Disney. My family never contracted covid. We do always mask indoors, and don’t eat indoors. |
Thanks for your opinion Karen. |
Yup; the people I know who traveled in June on airplanes are all reporting that they got COVID. They aren't sharing that information on social media or anything, but when I talk to them in person I learn that people in their family or traveling group got sick. In most cases it was a bad cold, but kept them from enjoying the rest of their trip. On one case the traveler passed the virus on to the elderly relatives they were visiting, which was a bummer, but the elderly relative is doing OK. |
I know plenty of people who have traveled since April/May, including myself, who haven’t gotten covid while traveling or even directly afterwards. It’s all anecdotes sure but they work in both directions. |
I've actually met PP and her name is actually Irene. Good Night. |

I traveled to a massive conference, was seated next to someone who tested positive, yet I didn’t get sick. I masked on the plane and at the conference except during meals.
I flew to FL and went on a weeklong cruise and didn’t get sick. I masked on the flights, but we didn’t mask on the cruise. Everyone will eventually get covid. Everyone. Stop worrying. You’ll be fine. |
My whole family of 4 went to Denver in the winter and no one got COVID. We had to test upon return before sending kids back to school. We were masked on the plane because it was required but not at all during our vacation. I flew to FL - no COVID. No mask requirements and I did not mask. |

Traveled to west coast and back, stayed in multiple hotels, in April, and didn’t get sick. Spent week on the Jersey Shore last week and didn’t get sick.
We mask with KN95s inside pretty religiously. We also did on the plane in April (and we flew just before the mandate was lifted, so while not 100%, masking was very good). |

My family of three flew cross-country, 5 nights in a hotel, no Covid (or any illness). Ate indoors at restaurants most meals but otherwise were outdoors. We are vaccinated and had Covid in the spring of 2021.
I wore a mask on the plane and in the airport, the rest of my family did not. |
