Any travel stories were you DIDN'T come back with covid?

hello all!
It seems to be in my very small world anyone who has traveled, flown or stayed in a hotel has come back with covid. I'm looking for stories of travel and no one got sick. Did you mask up? Did you stay in a hotel, fly or drive, eat out? Sleep in a hotel masked or unmasked, stuff like this. I'm immunocompromised and am trying to gauge as best as I can risky situations right now. Thank you for your help.

I fly to Denver and back, no covid. I drive to Canada often, no covid. DD flew to Europe and back, no covid. All three went to Denver as well, nobody god covid. DD flew to Canada from DC twice, no covid.
In fact, the only one that got it is DH who stayed at home, but was working in person.

I traveled across the country in April, from California to New York. Stayed in a hotel and ate there and in one restaurant. Met up with about 40 family members, all vaccinated and some with boosters, except the 2 yr old.

Was vaccinated and had one booster at the time. Flew with four other people - none of the five of us got Covid.

I’ve flown to Europe and domestically, multiple times in the last year, never got Covid. Wore a mask on plane, stayed in both hotels and Airbnbs. I ate out, both indoors and outdoors. I am 44, no conditions or health problems. I fully expect to get Covid sometime, though! My luck can’t last forever.

Oh, I attended a wedding, over 100 attendees indoors, no covid. Some got it, but not me nor my two kids or DH.

I’ve traveled multiple times, on planes, in crowded cities, during surges, and no one got sick. When we got Covid, I’m pretty sure one of my kids picked it up at school.

I take the train to/from NY every week, have been to London several times, including for a global convention with about 500 attendees, an extended family vacation in Florida, and various domestic flights for long weekends, sporting events, etc. No mask for any of this, and no COVID at any point.

I recently attended a 1000 person conference in a different city that required a flight and a stay in a hotel. No COVID.

Did not come back with it from Switzerland. No one was masked and idk if people were vaccinated. Large flights and fairly crowded transit. I had repeated PCR testing for work requirements after the trip so I know for sure

My family of four returned 10 days ago from two weeks in Europe. Almost no one there was masking and I'd say maybe 1/3 of people on the flights were masked. Maybe. We haven't gotten Covid. So what did we do? We wore masks religiously indoors. We ate every single meal outdoors, except for a few in our hotel room. We stayed in three different hotels, and at each one we opened windows wide as soon as we checked in and kept them open whenever we were in the room. We had a CO2 monitor that we used in hotel rooms to confirm the rooms were well-ventilated. On the plane, we did not remove masks at all until after takeoff, once the plane ventilation was turned on (and then kept masks off for very short periods, to eat and drink). Both adults in the family got second boosters a few weeks before the trip.

All that said, some of this is just luck. Plenty of people take lots of precautions and still get Covid. But I have to imagine the precautions also help a lot. Best of luck!

Never positive.

I have been on 5 trips in the last two years all by plane. I stayed in resorts and VRBO's. I also was in the car with someone for an hour who tested positive for Covid the next day. I have remained Covid free.

Several trips (2 on airplanes). No COVID for me, DH or 9 yo. Masked on planes. Trips between March 2020 - April 2022 we masked indoors (except with family). Trip to Colorado in May 2022, masked on plane, but didn't mask at all the whole week we were there.

My family of 4 recently returned from Hawaii. No covid. We stayed in a hotel and did not mask (no one masks when sleeping -- not safe), ate in restaurants, masked in the airport but not the airplane. But we were protected because we all had covid a month before our trip.

My BIL on the same trip did get covid, despite being more concientious about masking. The rest of his family did not get it, even though they were sharing a hotel room with him.

I've been all over the US and to Spain, France, and the UK (2x) during COVID and have never gotten it once. I wear a mask on public transportation and stay in AirBnBs or with family. We prefer to eat outside but it's not always possible given the time of year. I chalk a lot of it up to luck.
