I’ve had to micromanage employees before. They made so many mistakes and basically didn’t know what they were doing. And yes, I’ve also uncovered bad employee behavior once I really started paying attention. One had a side job and the other just watched tv all day. If you’re being micromanaged- maybe ask if there is a problem with your work product. |
That just sounds like management didn't properly train them. I know a contract was lost because the client wasn't receive a fair work product. They were just putting people to work without spending time training them. Many employees were transferred or laid off. If you are only paying attention to one employee versus many others who made the same mistake or worse mistakes then why is that? |
Please cite the law that applies. Thanks. |
PK, well, keep operating in your feelings like a child and see how well that works out for you. |
Aww, you’re cute. That Right Wing Faux Persecution Complex is such a good look. |
Obviously state dependent, but see, e.g., DC Code S 2-1402.11(a). (also, is Google broken today?) |
How is someone watching TV all day or working a side gig "management didn't train them?" |
Ha right? I am sure there are true micromanagers out there, but most of the time when someone complains about micromanaging, they're really saying they just want to be left alone and not have to be accountable. Sometimes they are turning out great work product but often they are not. |
| You know once I saw this cartoon depicting relationship between a manager and staff - two birds sitting on tree branches. Boss on the top branch, staff on bottom. Caption says when boss sees his staff he sees a "shithead" (boss pooped all over staff), when staff sees his boss he sees a "asshole". I thought man, this is so true!! |
Probably pushed out due to insufficient wokeness. Stupid of you to not tape a blm sign to your cubicle. |
You cropped out what she said which isn't fair at all. Watching TV all day may be allowed in scifs or work environments where electronics aren't allowed. Watching TV on a computer all day isn't bad as long as the work gets done. Having a side job isn't bad either because it could be because that micromanager isn't paying enough but should only be an issue if it conflicts with work. |
Interesting now I wonder if that's the reason why some people wear blm masks before. |
+1000 Get ride if anyone else senior or smart in order to be irreplaceable to the company… because they pushed out all the other knowledgeable hard workers. |
But that individual knows all the managers goofs and questions and errors, because they’re the ones staying up all night fixing them or doing the analytics or closing the sale or relationship. Eventually the boss pushes them out due to insecurity and fear of being found out by the board. |

Not pushed out by a micromanager but rather a very poor manager, who was also a poor communicator and it very analytical. So when the big guy retired they took it upon themselves to push everyone with a brain out, replace them with younger titles people and look irreplaceable.
Only it failed in less than 5 years. They were working longer hours than ever, their undermanaged jr folks were just surfing the web when anyone walked by, and their @$$ was on the line for every poorly contrived and uninformed decision they ever made. So they were replaced by a consultant agreement. Oh well. They had a cushy overpaid job for 10 yrs! |
