Teachers do so much good beyond what's reflected in your salary. Think back to your childhood, and for most people, the most memorable influences outside of family are their teachers.

Lawyer here. When you're a lawyer, as long as you're at your computer, you feel/look like you are working. Hence the fact that there are always a lot of lawyers posting on DCUM. (Meanwhile, my teacher friends and nurse friends do not have time to be scrolling through DCUM.)
