Have you read about all the horrifying deadly accidents on I-95 over the years?

Amtrak goes to Blacksburg. About 6.5 hours from Union Station. That’d be safer and more pleasant.

Even though last hour is on the bus. But I’d take that over my kid driving a small car.

From Wikipedia:

The Confederate flag on Virginia Tech class rings became optional in 1972 and could be left off of the ring at the student's request.[29] The Confederate flag has since been removed from class ring designs entirely.

The drive! It’s grueling. Befriend or rekindle relationships with JMU students to break up the trip. JMU should advertise, “if you were a student here, you’d be back already!” Similar to Bridgeville, Delaware’s cutesy but true signs directed at exhausted and sunburned returning beach goers stuck in traffic!

How good is the food?
Do they have a lot of healthy food choice?

Cut it out. That was 2009 between two foreign Chinese students, one of who had guardianship over the other.

Are you kidding? It's one of the few schools that has more men than women (57/43). So many attractive, smart guys there.

lol

Same with the mass shooting incident. It was just that one time but it counts as a horror story (which OP requested).

It's generally not good for women to be at a school/department where there are more men than women. Lots of unwanted attention, resentment if attentions aren't reciprocated, harder time establishing functioning study groups due to men thinking wanting to work together means something else etc. It sucks and derails a lot of women's progress in male-dominated majors.

That’s a crappy thing to even bring up in this thread. Yes, it was horrible. It was 15 years ago. I was a student at the time and wouldn’t wish that experience on my worst enemy, but it’s not relevant to a discussion in 2022.

OP, I’m sure your daughter will be happy at either school! But VT is a wonderful place.

Also a long time ago. Has nothing to do with VT anymore
