I’m writing a book and joined a lot of free writing groups where we do something similar. We state what we will work on and then work on it. Some groups have a check in at the end, and some don’t.

So maybe I don’t need FocusMate right now since I have my other groups but the idea is sound and I’d try this service if I didn’t have something in place already.

I think many humans have this need, when we lived more communally, life provided doubles. Now, with everything so atomized, I like the idea of another human being involved. And, hard to beat free.

This is great for someone who does not have someone readily available to them in life.

When cleaning out closets or organizing, I have a friend who will come over and just hang out, then we swap. Makes sorting clothes and toys go very smoothly, so I can see the benefits of this. We take turns and find it really helps get big tasks done.
