| Yes, they should. |
Anyone? |
You can bring it up at any upcoming School Board meeting. The project will be in the Hunter Mill District - Melanie Meren is the representative. Marshall HS is in the Providence District - Karl Frisch is the representative. Langley HS is in the Dranesville District - Elaine Tholen is the representative. This is a win-win opportunity to use space at Langley, avoid further overcrowding Marshall, and demonstrate that "One Fairfax" isn't an empty slogan. Those who claim it's far away from Langley must not understand the current boundaries or the fact that many students who live further from Langley than Dominion Square West already attend Langley. |
From a capacity perspective it might make sense. Moving kids around by race and income for “equity” is silly. |
It’s sensible to assign a new development in an area adjacent to an under-enrolled school’s existing boundaries to that school. If the equity kicker is what it takes to motivate some of the School Board members to take action, so be it. My kid went to Marshall and it’s crazy to overcrowd GCM further when Langley has more space than other schools in the area. |

Great Falls moves to Herndon
Tysons and parts of McLean move to Langley Simple. It can be solved in 5 minutes. |
It’s not because of equity it’s bc of space. It’s the only school in the vicinity that can take additional students. Further Overcrowding schools in the area bc Langley is 2 more miles further out is BS. And the way it works now, kids way further out than 5 miles “get bused” to attend Langley. And why is it called getting bused only when poor kids do it? |
+1. That ship sailed when they spent our money expanding Langley to almost 2400 seats. If they wanted to send more kids to Marshall or McLean they should have expanded those schools, not Langley. It will be interesting to see if the School Board is paying attention. I can imagine they’ll only be more vulnerable next year if it looks they were asleep again. |
Mark Frisch won’t care. He’s just a puppet. Don’t get your hopes up. He needs to be recalled or voted out asap. Horrid human who cares more about his own gains than the children he represents. We failed by voting him in!! |
Then we must vote his sorry ass out. Marshall shares a boundary with Langley but the FARMS rate is 6X higher. |
They don’t already? |
| Yes send them to Langley!!!!!! |
I think a rooftop terrace is a great feature, especially since these homes seem to not have yards. |

Ask Omeish or the retired Pat Hynes, they’ll tell you it’s due to racism. |
