And its irresponsible of news reporters to be sharing specific locations. |
| we need more cameras in the city. It took them forever to catch the killer of the young man at the gas station nearby to this locaction. The city needs to encourage businesses to have cameras and have their own working crime deterrance cameras. We don't have enough in this city. |
Yes, very clear to me from the video that the shooting was from the apartment building into the glass walkway. Which is corroborated by the eyewitness accounts on local news. |
This is awful but let’s remember when everyone is judging and badmouthing other urban schools that this can happen to you too! |
A shooter with an automatic weapon who fired shots at a school is on the loose and you think they're overdoing it? |
I'm all for it. Every time I watch a British crime drama I wonder why we don't have cameras on every corner, every block, every 100 ft. |
|
Exactly! The PP can’t get her evening cocktail and is annoyed at the police presence. |
My god - someone shoots into a school, hitting at least one student, is STILL ON THE LOOSE WITH THE AUTOMATIC WEAPON, there are kids sheltering in place, there are embassies and other schools as well as a daycare within the block, and you think it doesn't need an overwhelming police presence????? Sure, let's just let him run away? |
That's how this area is around this time on a Friday. Walking is faster. |

Just this week alone in tony Forest Hills:
A man wielding an iron bar and attempting to break into the Peruvian Amassador’s residence was shot and killed. A woman with her legs bound was pushed out/ jumped from the eighth floor of 4500 Connecticut Ave NW and now this. |
Also this week, within a couple of blocks, the guy who bound a woman's legs and threw her out a 7th storey window and drove off with the toddler. |
....hey look at that shiny object over there in the corner!! nothing going on here....it's your crazy imagination. |
uh? are you nuts? IT IS GUNS. even in areas where people hunt. did oyu forget Sandy Hook? that was not a urban area and the lady was a gun enthusiast. Virginia tech was hardly in an inner city. plenty of gun deaths everywhere, accidents, guns left around and found by kids, suicides, armed people getting into arguments and shooting. it's guns. i am from Europe, we have problems, poor people, angry people, crazy people, criminals and there is nowhere near the amount of deaths. IT IS THE F-ING GUNS |
Especially with masks now, it's very difficult to catch perps. multi-cameras can help track them from their unguarded moments, like before they put on the mask. The DC camera program is entirely focused on fines, not even on traffic crime like carjacking. Just traffic fines. We need to improve this. Our city already has a target on it - why do we not blanket major cooridors and sites with cameras, I do not know. No will to deter here. |
