By “self made,” you mean “came from a wealthy family and then had a years-long affair with Larry Summers.” Larry and his connections and introductions are the long and short of why she is where she is, but you won’t read that tip in “Lean In.” |
Okay, his connections got her jobs at Google and Facebook. But she worked those jobs for 20 years. What's wrong with that? |
Did she? I thought he was just a mentor, but maybe I'm being naive. |
Her affair with Larry Summers got her honors at Harvard, that Harvard MBA, that job at the World Bank, the position in Obama’s administration, the jobs at Google and Facebook, and the wildly positive press she enjoyed for decades while being ruthless, conniving, and vindictive, in addition to making serious missteps (Cambridge Analytica was the least of it). Ambitious, smart undergrads are a dime a dozen at Harvard. Fellating Larry and then following him around is what made her stand out. If there’s nothing wrong with that, then why didn’t the REAL secret to her success make it into any of her books? |
You’re being very naïve lol. A lot of news articles have tiptoed right up to the line of outright disclosing the affair. No profile of her is complete without mention of her “close” relationship with him that started as an undergrad lol. Oh, and you heard it here first: It’s no coincidence that her head has finally rolled now when Larry has fallen out with Biden. Larry embarrassed Biden by (correctly) highlighting his administration’s shit policies as being to blame for inflation and now, Larry is on the outs with the cult of Obama/Biden. With Sheryl’s powerful mentor finally defanged, Peter Thiel moved quickly to kill her off. |
This is a few years old but seems relevant
“I HOPE IT CRACKS WHO SHE IS WIDE OPEN”: INSIDE SILICON VALLEY, MANY HAVE LONG KNOWN SHERYL SANDBERG ISN’T A SAINT The Times bombshell confirms what many inside the tech industry already knew: Sandberg is a brilliant, transformative figure—but she’s also a ruthless executive and indefatigable political animal https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2018/11/silicon-valley-many-have-long-known-sheryl-sandberg-isnt-a-saint |
Of course she is not a saint, and she is “conniving” and “ruthless.” Why would anyone think otherwise? Does anyone expect Jeff Bezos or Steve Jobs to be nice guys? Obviously not. She is not above critique for her actual performance, but the commentary about her style is so clearly gendered. |
Shut up. Bezos, Jobs, Musk, Gates and others are/were conniving, ruthless, narcissistic, avaricious, and borderline sociopathic…and we know this because people say so!! What’s “gendered” is that Sandberg insulated her vicious, cold blooded ways from criticism for years by playing the sexism card. It was part of the nauseating to see this cruel hypocrite, who washes out other women without a second thought, positioning herself as a defender of women’s rights and writing that stupid f—king book ”Lean In.” A man wouldn’t have gotten away with that kind of flagrant charlatanism. It’s absolutely fair to call her out for all of her miserable ways. |
More criticism. https://time.com/6183520/sheryl-sandberg-facebook-legacy/ |
Can someone circle Nancy to Peter Thiel’s role in this?
|
Let me try that again.
Can someone circle back to Peter Thiel’s role in this? |
Wut? Elon Musk is a psychopath who is also unstable - If he were a woman, I can’t even imagine what they would be saying about him. |
I’m the PP who wrote about Peter Thiel taking the opportunity of Larry Summers’ head-first leap from grace to go for Sheryl Sandberg’s jugular. If you know about the ongoing power struggle at Meta, that nasty pension fund lawsuit in Delaware, and how Thiel ended up stepping down from Meta’s board when he’s the reason Facebook got off the ground, then it should be REALLY obvious why Peter has some scores to settle and with whom. Peter’s vindictiveness is legendary. This is only the beginning. |
Peter Thiel is orders of magnitude eviler than SS. |
+1. There is so much misogyny on this thread. Just because a woman has a mentor does not mean she slept with him. I know the circles Sheryl Sandberg ran in while she was in DC and never heard anyone mention an affair with Larry Summers. She’s been a high level executive for decades and yet anonymous DCUMers want to attribute it to sleeping up. |
