I don't get the hate for her. She's awesome in my eyes. A average-looking women who presents as radiant, an amazing and loyal employee, formerly at Google and the Treasury Secretary, a self-made billionaire, Harvard educated, and a successful mom of two. She's everything DCUM says a woman should be.

By “self made,” you mean “came from a wealthy family and then had a years-long affair with Larry Summers.” Larry and his connections and introductions are the long and short of why she is where she is, but you won’t read that tip in “Lean In.”

Okay, his connections got her jobs at Google and Facebook. But she worked those jobs for 20 years. What's wrong with that?

+1. There is so much misogyny on this thread. Just because a woman has a mentor does not mean she slept with him. I know the circles Sheryl Sandberg ran in while she was in DC and never heard anyone mention an affair with Larry Summers. She’s been a high level executive for decades and yet anonymous DCUMers want to attribute it to sleeping up.

Hmm, you definitely weren’t close to those circles if you didn’t hear about her and Larry.

Anyway, I’ll bookmark this thread and bump it when the affair eventually comes to light. It could be as soon as next year. If she campaigns for Biden against Thiel’s candidate of choice, promotes abortion rights through a PAC, or makes some other move into politics, then she’ll come under attack. Leaking the affair will be the easiest way to undermine her for good and he will absolutely do it.

I think I’m closer to those circles that a malicious DCUMer. If you have proof post it now. But you have none so you just sling garbage at a woman who is infinitely more successful than you will ever be.

She worked for companies like Facebook. Are we really going to pretend to be shocked that she's corrupt?

Did she? I thought he was just a mentor, but maybe I'm being naive.

NP. This was news to me. Ewww.

So what? Why do I care about that as a voter? What does it have to do with where she spends her money in politics?

That’s for you to figure out. I’m not your magic 8 ball.

How cringe and performative is this exit.

Another greedy unethical c-suite pig who thinks she's above the law and hides behind carefully cultivated and pricey p.r. b.s to muddy the stink.

+1 also in those circles like a step removed. It's just misogyny. No one says this of male billionaires. Yes she grew up UMC etc but she's self-made by any normal standard. She's not an heiress! Self made doesn't mean you grew up dirt poor.

I have no dog in this fight and have never had a reason to mention this but I heard about the LS/SS thing back when it supposedly happened. The sources and the real time nature suggest something happened to me.

Is she a closeted lesbian?

Sexuality is fluid, and there is a lot of space between hetro & homosexuality.

That's her business.

Abusing aids sexually is equal opportunity.

Sandberg is vile just like any of her male cohort.

When she said “lean in” she meant lean in she meant that made it easier to harass people and invade their space.
