My coworker eats fish everyday at work!

I used to work next door to Blue Plains. Kitchen smells were the least of my concerns.

OP here,

I am so sorry, I hope your next job was more pleasant then you previous.
I left work early and my husband gave me some ideas and experiment to try at work to solve my little problem. First I'm completely going to stop using the kitchen at work, I'm taking my own mini microwave and fridge tomorrow. If the manager or HR gives me issues, I'm going to get a note from my doctor that I've been getting sick because of work issues, especially my food allergies.

Two can play this game, if HR doesn't want to do the dirty work then I will. I know for fact this lady does not eat beef only fish Monday through Friday. So, I have decided even that I'm not fond of beef myself, I will bring some everyday and warm it up or just cook it up for 15-20 minutes. See how she like the smell of rotten meat every single day! 😂

Is it fried tuna? (sorry I couldn't resist).

I used to work AT blue plains (DC Water). I didn't think it smelled at all

Some people hate the smell of coffee.
Unless you have an office rule that no one can eat anything other than raw vegetables, you'll have to live with it.

+1 when I was pregnant the smell of coffee made me incredibly nauseous. It was pretty miserable being around coworkers drinking it but I certainly didn’t act like a prima donna and complain to HR/try to have it banned from the office.

Fish doesn't smell any worse than McDonald's or other fast food.

Why assume this is not actionable? Can't speak for OP's employer but my office does take action about this.

So you're hauling your own microwave and fridge in tomorrow, which you somehow either had laying around or rushed out to buy, and you plan to use them to cook meat for 20 minutes. Okay.

Please keep us posted. Maybe you could do beef, cabbage, pork and just rotate variety of meats To spice up the kitchen area.

If it was just some co-worker I'd tell them to leave the rock they've been hiding under.

LOL. People are so stupid. Your office has every right to make rules around the use of the kitchen. Or to not provide a kitchen at all.

LOL- exactly! There is no constitutional right to eat/cook stinky food in an office. You can sue all you want+ good luck with that!

My coworker ate fish every day after her gastric bypass. It was smelly, but I was impressed by her discipline and determination.

Yeah, good luck with that. The ones quoted here prohibiting the reheating of certain entire cultures' cuisines are absolutely legally actionable as discrimination against a protected class. "LOL" indeed.
