That is definitley a possibility.

Is that a good or bad thing? I think she used to be at Franconia elem.

Terry bolted FCPS in 2019 to take a position at a notoriously unstable school system (Rochester NY) where he only lasted 10 months. He’s now the head of a local school system with only 3200 kids.

What makes anyone think he can lead a troubled, mismanaged system with 180,000 kids?

The SB isn't going to hire an internal candidate, right? Some think Sloan might be a candidate.

In his defense he left them, they didn’t get rid of him.

It’s not much of a defense if he didn’t do enough due diligence before accepting the position in Rochester.

No - not related.

Dr. Presidio seems to be one of the better assistant supers. He seems to care but I"m not sure how he would deal with the School Board. Too bad we can't steal the Prince William Superintendent, she seems good and would tick the diversity boxes that you know the school board will want. Part of the problem is in many states school districts are much smaller so it is hard to find someone with experience at running this scale of a system. Also since Our mess has been all over national news, many folks are probably saying heck no.

This School Board is toxic and no one with any common sense would want to report to them.

Brabrand pivoted from a superintendent who came in saying he'd make academics his top priority to one spouting silly platitudes about "equity" because he thought that's what was needed to placate these clowns. And still they torched him and second-guessed every move he made, to the point where he completely lost his way.

The ONLY way things improve is to get rid of this School Board - a sad collection of liars, hypocrites, and poseurs - next year, and that is by no means guaranteed.

Soon. Two finalists are a Black woman and a White Woman. Neither appears to be a great choice but Fairfax NAACP is heavily lobbying now for the minority candidate, who is now in Omaha (the other is from a small district in Washington State).

Nothing would speak louder to the current School Board’s lack of commitment to academic excellence than hiring Cheryl Logan, the former Chief Academic Officer of the chronically under-performing Philadelphia Public Schools (now in Omaha), as the next superintendent. What a sad joke FCPS has become.

Logan was passed over for the St. Paul superintendent job in Minnesota before going to Omaha.

Well whichever person is selected and chooses to accept, at least they are getting a flavor of what it is like to be here. Thanks NAACP for the quick lesson to anyone who might ever want to work here.
