We get what we deserve.

Who in their right mind want's to wear the target that BoE members have on their backs?

Exactly. You get paid $25,000 a year to go to he's incredibly long meetings and have random people from the public harass you constantly. The pay only works if you are retired or have somebody else who is a breadwinner and the time commitment is very steep for most parents with young children.

If you have young kids you'd have to pay for child care so after taxes that isn't very much.

As awful as they might seem, the removal of SROs and the dilution of academic rigor by the current board is the true embarrassment.

I'll vote for the crazies. At least they might shake things up a bit.

And, both of those are partly to blame by the activist parents who don't believe in homework or their kids should struggle. Basically they cannot be bothered so what happens at school needs to stay at school.

Really activist parents who don’t believe in homework or a school system that believes in the studies that determine how much homework should be give. At each level?? And be careful, some of those people who don’t want to do homework when there kids come home after school are your neighbors.

Is your name on ballot? Did you convince someone else to run and agree to help them campaign and get the word out to be voted into office? Are you actively starting threads, petitions, and providing general advocacy to have the BOE salary raised so other people might consider it more?

No? so essentially you’re waiting for someone else to step in and do the real work why you luxuriate in the realm of complaints? And when this doesn’t happen you’re going to what, take your ball and go elsewhere.

DP - there is NO WAY IN HELL I will vote for any incumbents.

If I see any of their names on the ballot (Wolff, Silvestre, Docca, Evans, Harris, Joftus, Smondrowski), the other candidate will get my vote no matter what.

And, that is why my neighbors are complaining their kids are struggling. Without practice it’s hard to get good at math or writing or much else.

Where are you in school? Our kids get plenty of homework. At Robert Frost and Wootton. And no, I will not be voting for these nut jobs who also bullied the SMOB.

And I shudder to think that I might have to vote for Silvestre, given that Fryar seems mentally unstable and Giandomenico doesn't seem capable of substantive thought.

Coll seems like the clear choice in this race.

Coll is anti-gifted programs and acceleration. May not matter to some people of course.

Besides being way too cozy with the teachers union. The BoE shouldn’t be an extension of MCEA- it should be what stands up to MCEA.

What's the basis for that claim?

Your post displays your ignorance of who's even up for reelection.

Thank you. It’s one of the reopen mcps moderators/administrators. Lots of extreme statements with no support. They love to stalk this site.
