Not the God awful clowns on the PAGES group. They are still trying to keep universal masking.

Lol. Those guys are a hoot. I bet they are saying stuff like

"If we unmask, at least require daily testing!"

"If they are going to force us to work in these viral petri dishes, they should at least switch back to hybrid!"

Or, "I can't believe there are so many Trumpers on the MoCo BOE"

One teacher wanted to see if he could have the option to ask kids to mask even without the mask mandate in place. These people are loony!!

Oh my gosh, really?

Meanwhile, they are all worried about their little masked kids getting bullied by the anti-masker. But you KNOW that the teacher will say things like "guys dont you think we should all keep our masks on since we all care about each other so much."

And the one or two kids without masks will feel singled out by the teacher.

The funny part is the maskless parents advocating for no masks are bullying everyone to agree with them and then they are then complaining about potential bullying. The simple way to solve this concern is to continue masking your kids.

Lol. JFC you live in your own reality.

These parents just want the choice to send their kid unmasked. We couldn't give a rats a$s if you send your kid masked.

But the Covidians all have their panties in a bunch that their little masked kid will get bullied. But that's not gonna happen. Not in MoCo, at least. It would be the opposite. The unmasked kid will get called a 'Grandma-killer' or something worse. Something that they heard around YOUR dinner table

You are so suddenly worried about your kids being treated the same way you've treated everyone else for the past two years.

+1 In high anxiety moco, the vast majority of people won't say anything if you mask. Go into a store -- majority are still masking. And that's fine. They have the right to do what they want.

My one kid says they will not mask, while my other kid said they will probably mask sometimes. That's fine. They can make their own choices in that regard.

CDC says we can go maskless, so we are following the science.

They said you can but didn't say that was the best thing to do. I mean if you're okay with long haul covid go for it.

Someone's risk assessment needs a major adjustment.

They said you can because they felt that based on the numbers, it's ok to do so. You clearly make decisions on fear and anxiety rather than hard data.

The fact is it takes one person to bring it into the school and share it with everyone. It is not anxiety and fear not to get sick for a week or two based off someone else's selfish behavior.

The fact is that covid is here to stay, so if you don't want to catch it, then stay home. Don't go out to eat; don't travel. Make everyone wear a mask and gloves whenever you go out.

Something is seriously wrong with you. I don’t eat out or travel. And, yes we will continue to mask. I prefer to teach my kids social responsibility by example.

The CDC, the state of MD, MoCo, MCPS and now the teacher's union have ALL stated that masks should be optional, yet you want to keep masking , but something is seriously wrong with me?

LOL ok, then.

PP is better than all those agencies you mentioned. Yes, she’s THAT good!

How do you function at all?

How are you so emotionally void about caring?

NP. I have no obligation to care. What makes you think I should?

Clearly you don't have kids in MCPS so just go away.

Since its so safe, why don't you become a teacher or staff member or even a sub? Funny how you can scream how safe it is when you don't actually have to go in one of the buildings and risk your health.

We offer support for educators and families and we focus on providing food, clothes, supplies, and resources for underserved students in Montgomery County, MD."

Based on recent traffic, I don't think PAGES cares as much about masking now as they did about the issues from last spring and fall. There was much more chatter about Omicron than about this. The (fewer) posts aren't getting as many likes, etc. Some teachers who are upset that MCEA didn't poll all the teachers before arriving at their current masking position and others are worried about future variants but it is a Covid nervous group so that's to be expected.

Some of us are in schools every day. I don't really care about masking personally - I don't have anyone at home who's at risk.

I do have a really good friend undergoing serious chemo that I can't visit indoors just now. I do care about her, and she's managing her risk profile carefully. It's far more than just covid - she even has to worry about stirring up old dust in her home.

Yes, it's secret. Back when I joined (and answered the screening questions completely honestly), before most of DCUM had ever heard of it, I didn't realize how fringe it was. The administrators are worried that the Together Again group will infiltrate them.

1. because they express this concern from time to time

Some of us still working from home would have happily gone back long ago, but were expressly forbidden from doing so. It's not like we're all dragging our feet.

Thank you for standing up to families who think you should still enforce masking. I think it's a completely unreasonable request and inappropriate to expect individual teachers to make it, on top of everything else they're already doing. OTOH, I have a friend in NoVA whose elementary schooler's entire class is still masked at the request of their teacher, so there you go. Good times, all around.

To the PPP— and some of us still working from home will continue to that indefinitely because the flexibility suits us and we have jobs that can be done from anywhere. Don’t tell me what I need to be doing.

You are demanding others work in person to care for your kids and you aren't willing to even allow the most basic safety precautions.

Agree with the Reopen MCPS as well as several other of the groups. There are a few bullies in each group and the funny part is some of them don't even have kids in MCPS or any affiliation to MCPS.

You are confusing me with somebody else. I was responding to the teacher who demands that I go back to working in person because she had to. I said nothing about masking.

Since its so safe, why don't you become a teacher or staff member or even a sub? Funny how you can scream how safe it is when you don't actually have to go in one of the buildings and risk your health.

Some of us are in schools every day. I don't really care about masking personally - I don't have anyone at home who's at risk.

And, there are students, staff and family members in this situation where it would be very harmful if they brought covid home so masking is the right thing to do.

I do have a really good friend undergoing serious chemo that I can't visit indoors just now. I do care about her, and she's managing her risk profile carefully. It's far more than just covid - she even has to worry about stirring up old dust in her home.
