James Murphy has always led the band, but "LCD Soundsystem" refers to the collective members. Nancy Whang has contributed to something like the last 4 albums, plus all the tours.

Weren’t John and Pete super close friends? I think they still are because I recently saw a photo of Pete holding John’s new little baby.
I read that Pete is doing movies now, he is currently on location in NYC starring in a lead role. I see Pete having a successful film career because he is so likable. John not so much.
