I thought Penn was the worst |
Not Cornell. |
| Cornell is well known for its high suicide rate and lots of depression in the student body. Pass. |
| The Cornell-bashing here is really sad. I mean, most of the DCUM kids are going to UMD, Northeastern, IU, etc. Cornell is head and shoulders above these schools. |
This! From our private in the South. other Ivies are very hard to get into. Cornell (and somewhat Dartmouth) are easier to get into--so kids who (or rather kids with parents) who need the Ivy validation flock to Cornell regardless of fit. |
That’s actually false. As a pp already wrote. |
Specifically which college are you saying is easier to get into? |
Maybe you need to tell Cornell people to get their act together. For no other reason than its chance affiliation with the Ivy League, many of them got their heads buried in their assets. |

You never seem to tire of embarrassing yourself, eh? |
Ouch my 1580 kid with only 1B in an mcps magnet got waitlisted.. Engineering. |
Once again for those in the back of the room hard of hearing, the great majority of Cornell students are run-of-the-mill above average students who talk themselves they are gods gifts. These run-of-the-mill above average people even convince themselves they are on the level of Nobel prize winners. They got their heads buried in their assets. |
You are being presented with factual information and just writing nonsense in response. How embarrassing for you. Where did you go to college? |
Def not Cornell. |

Cornell has a much greater breadth of academic programs than other Ivies. If you’re only looking at a liberal arts degrees, you may not see the draw, but they have very highly rated Architecture, engineering, life sciences and vet schools.
I’m a Cornell PhD life sciences- loved my time there, loved the program. There was nowhere else to see so many cutting edge scientists in my field, and administrators are continually reinventing the curriculum offerings to remain cutting edge. It is an academically vibrant school. Yes- the winter is brutal. |
