PP. You see much more Longhorn alum spirit outside the Amtrak corridor. It’s not that they’re runner up to Michigan, it’s that the east coast loves to spend 4-7 years in Ann Arbor before reassembling here. West Coast and mountain state tech and energy hubs are bigger draws for expat Texans |
Penn State. PSU alumni were one of the first (if not the first) to lobby Virginia DMV for PSU vanity plates. Something like more alumni in Virginia than PA. Anyway, WE ARE! |
+1 WE ARE!! Penn State Proud!! |
Ohio State fans travel better than any other college fans in the Midwest. For whatever that's worth. |
The greeting is exchanged when someone sees another wearing school sweatshirts or whatever. And that can be anywhere in the world. NYC. LA. Switzerland. Bahamas. Morocco. India. All over. There’s a lot of school spirit. It’s not my thing, but people -including parents- help each other out with a lend-a-hand kindness it would be nice to see more places. It’s not the old boy finance network connections, more like: help my kid just took an international flight and stuck at x airport. And a parent says: DM me, we live half an hour away. They can stay here tonight I’ll go pick them up. |
Among the schools that are hardest to get into, I would say Williams, Princeton and Dartmouth. |
West Point. |
Northwestern |
Wake Forest |
LSU #GeauxTigers |
Large state flagships with good sports teams. You'll never see similar school spirit in smaller elite colleges where people love their colleges, or ivies where people feel pride for being there. |
That’s the point. You see Michigan swag it seems everywhere. |
My point is that you *don't* see Michigan swag all over Los Angeles or Seattle or Park City or Phoenix. You do, however, see so much UT burnt orange. |
“WE ARE!” |
That’s BS. Michigan has far more alumni in CA than Texas. Texas grads stay in Texas at a much higher rate. |
