Strawman (noun): An intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument. |
Then please enlighten us. |
About what? Assuming you wrote the thing about burning the school down and saying the administration is shitty, I said none of those things. I said that I hope the school will relax measures once the wave dies down. I didn't say I "can't stand" how the school is run. Take it easy there, Francis. |
What do you mean? |
I think you mean "Lighten up, Francis." Your missive above suggests you will have a problem if SR does not "follow the science" and keeps mask mandates even when science does not dictate that approach. And your words suggest a smugness that you will unleash if and when that happens. Like you are keeping check on the adminstration. Who are you to judge what SR does, or doesn't do? What makes you so special, someone who cannot even quote movie lines accurately? |
Yes. Bookmark this post. I have no problem with temporary things to respond to an unprecedented surge but haven’t we seen this movie before? When’s the last time you’ve taken a can of coke through airport security? |

There is actually a wide variety of n95/KN95/KF94/FFP2 masks out there that meet a particular regulatory standard. They all meet minimum standards for filtration, breathability, and a few other industry requirements. But they vary widely in terms of how comfortable they feel on a particular face/head and how breathable they are. DH, kids and I tried several types of masks before we each figured out what works for each of us and it turns out we wear different styles.
The 3M Aura 9205+ is very breathable, it molds to the face, and the straps are very comfortable and don't press into your head. |
My teen daughter loves the 3M aura 9205 as well. The straps behind the head make a big difference. This brand fits her slim face much better than other brands. |
| This is just another way an SR hater can get a thread started about the school. |

Lighten up, Francis. |
Holton is "strongly suggesting" them. They will likely require them by next week. |
St Andrews requires them outside as well as inside … |

Every time there's a Stone Ridge thread on this forum it ends up being hilarious. The closest you get to the Jerry Springer Show on this board.

SR parent and health care worker. I have absolutely no problem with the mask requirement. Everyone in my family is vaccinated and boosted. COVID-19 infection generally is mild in younger people/pediatrics, but not in everyone. I took care of young people with pulmonary emboli with mild cases of COVID. There is new data suggesting higher incidence of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus after COVID infection. There are concerning neurologic impacts being investigated, and long-term pulmonary complications (Omicron seems to be more sparing of lungs). No matter how mild, I don’t want my kids to get it- what if they are one of the rare ones to have these complications?
Great thanks to SR for trying to protect staff, students and their families. I think they have done a great job!! https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/96569 |
