| There is a petition circulating in DC started by a group of teachers to close schools. |
I’ve read this whole thread and I was assured that NO ONE wanted this. |
Exactly. The closures are pushed by teacher unions, NOT the science. |
Not in VA. |

Yup. Irrational voters are the reason we have Youngkin. |
Voters that see no point in voting for their own party are the reason you have Youngkin. Also do we have to have ANOTHER thread on this exact topic? There are like 5 others. |
Yes, keep up the name calling. What do voters know about their own lives? You know best! This attitude is why D’s lost so much ground this fall and will continue to nationally. |
A vote driven by anger is by definition irrational. |
Yup. OP sounds like GOP shill. |
NP. The problem was more that people didn't vote, not that they did. Youngkin won because Democratic voters could not stomach voting for TM and just didn't vote. You can't make people get out and vote, no matter how much you insult them. |
So voters angry about the financial crisis in 2007 were irrational. Or about Supreme Court picks? They’re all crazed, or just when it works against your team? |
Yes, any vote driven by emotions is irrational. A rational approach would be to evaluate candidates based on positions/policies and vote based on that. Not just out of spite. |
It’s so dumb right? I’m angry about injustice, therefore my vote is irrational! |
Maybe we could get some sort of check at the voting booth to ensure people are rational before voting? |
