I support safety for kids. If that means schools need to be virtual for a short period of time, then ok. Maybe homeschool is more your speed? |
DP but your post is confusing. You prefer virtual while the PP supports in person and yet you are suggesting that they would be a better fit for home schooling? I don’t get it. |
“We”? Who is “We”? If you’re expecting DC to be similar to Virginia and New Jersey — this strongly suggests that either you don’t live in DC or you’re in a very tiny bubble. Do you have any personal connections with any of the DC. Public schools? Who do you think will join you as single issue voters — with that as their issue? Most realize that difficult decisions were made using changing information under extreme circumstances— with safety as a primary goal. Even people who disagree with aspects of the decisions understand this. Also: Shifting to virtual instruction isn’t quite the same thing as “banning children from going to school”. There’s a really odd vibe to this post. Are you planning to spew out thoughts on “CRT” and book banning as well? |
You're gonna have a rough election night, I see. |
| I support sensible, short term closing of schools to limit surges. I will vote for politicians who balance this with the overall need for kids to be in-person at school whenever possible and support mask wearing and mandated vaccines for teachers, staff, and eligible students. That’s who gets my vote. |

Which specific election are you discussing? Are you even from DC? Smells like external agitator to me… |

A reality check for those of you who don't follow the news:
1. Omicron cases in places like South Africa are plummeting 2. All the available evidence indicates that Omicron is far less dangerous than Delta 3. The FDA just approved a new pill that reduces the risk of hospitalization or death in people with COVID by a whopping 90 percent. Get vaccinated, and you will be fine. And there is absolutely zero reason to keep kids out of school. |
All true bu when are local Democratic politicians going to see this? My biggest fear is that school closures and the pandemic theater in schools will become permanent even after the pandemic ends because it is too difficult to roll them back. People will just tolerate them in this area. |
Who is left to teach your children? More and more are leaving the profession and fewer are joining. How do you make the teachers still willing return to a workplace filled with covid, while you telework full-time at your place of employment? |
They lose the pension the rest of us don't get. |
I believe in following the science and not a binary it is either opened or closed. |
This is a disingenuous argument and you know it. No one wants to ban kids from school! And you know this. Stop lying |
What are they lying about? They are stating an opinion. |
