Schools will not close. We can stop it with behavior. People like you are too selfish to get it. These vaccines are not magic.

I believe MCPS will stay in person but what I totally don’t get is why they are allowing fans at the indoor basketball games.
Last week at a BCC home game the fans were elbow to elbow standing in their sheets cheering and yelling. I’d say more than half had their masks around their chins.

That is just a very small part of it. We sadly need a huge surge to get people to care. You went to that game so how are you any better than anyone else.

We have many choices. Shut down the movie theaters. Stop allowing dine in at the theaters. Close bars early. Close bars altogether. Bar indoor dining. Close the malls and big box stores.

None of those things are going to happen but all.of them will have to happen first if they are to consider closing schools.

Nothing is going to close down for a bad cold. You all are hallucinating.

Now that my kids are vaccinated, I even expect fewer quarantines than fall. More absent kids but just 1-2 who are actually (mildly) ill.

If that were true, how do you explain universities switching to virtual where 99% students are vaccinated? That’s what doesn’t make sense to me.

Yeah, and why isn't MCPS banning eating in dorm lounges and common areas, like UMD?!

Wait, what?

You are not very bright. UMD is in pg county.

Why? Clearly everyone thinks it is safe just like they think schools are safe. You want your kids and family safe, behave responsibly.

Covid is not a bad cold.

And no-one knows what covid+flu will look like. Be realistic. If hospitals are full, everything will close. Believe me, I don't want that to happen but it's not looking great right now and additional restrictions are already being implemented.

I think you’re going to be surprised how little changes despite the hospitalizations.

I didn’t go to the game but saw the video and pictures on Instagram.

Because hospitalizations are still going up anyways. It may not be so much the kids at risks but their parents/grandparents and older teachers. If teacher goes down with Covid who will teach? There are no subs.
