Should we prepare for virtual schooling starting in January?

No Alyssa.

Cases are going to skyrocket no matter what. Vaccines prevent the worst outcomes. Closing schools preemptively will just hurt kids.

Seriously.

NEW POST: Delta variant running wild! They’re going to close schools!
Poster: Nope. Hogan needs to give the green light on that and he won’t. Plus virtual days don’t count toward the required 180 instruction days.

NEW POST: Hospitals are nearing capacity! We need to shut down schools!

NEW POST: Omg Omicron! Schools need to go virtual!
Poster: Nope. Hogan needs to give the green light on that and he won’t. Plus virtual days don’t count toward the required 180 instruction days.

NEW POST: All colleges and private schools moving to virtual. MCPS is next!

Etc, etc, etc…

Obviously. You virtual humpers are so dumb. No school district in country is talking virtual. Colleges are residential and different beasts. Private schools literally just started their break early but they’ll be back. It’s not going to happen. Quit trying to make virtual happen, Gretchen. It’s not going to happen.

We'll have to see what happens with omicron plus flu, now that we know the current flu strain isn't covered by this year's vaccine. If our hospitals become overwhelmed with admits, we'll have no choice. For now, wait and see mode.

Why schools? What else would be shut down?

There is no good reason for schools to go virtual. If MCPS does that, I hope the state steps in and I hope parents raise bloody hell.

Not closing. Bahaha

Pretty much everything will shut down if our hospitals are overwhelmed. Unless an aggressive 'test-to-stay' plan is implemented and shown to be effective.

No. And you shouldn’t either. Politics aside, CNN has been an unreliable news source for anything related to Covid.
