Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
| No. It will not happen. |

I feel so conflicted about this. I’m getting very worried with the number of cases going up. I think it would be an enormous disruption to many parents if schools were to go virtual. So many kids wouldn’t have a family at home during the day to watch or help them. While many of us are teleworking, work at home or have somebody at home during the day, there is a huge percentage of population who does not have that.
It would be nice to have the option to keep kids at home if you are inclined to do so. |
Congregate living, for one. |
End of the semester/finals week for another |
If there are enough kids completely out of school, you might see the sentiment on that change. Virtual school isn't as good as in-person, but it's better than literally nothing. |
It seems likely. The irony being the same people who will complain the loudest are more often than not those who helped create this situation by not taking the pandemic seriously. |
Please find a different hobby. |

No.
These kids are vaccine and gave boosters. They should shut down entertainment venues if they want to stop the spread. But they won't do that either. Hogan made it clear that you go get yourself vaccinated because it's not going away. Anyone choosing to gamble with it can live (or not) with the consequences. |
No. It’s not happening Jan. |
Sorry, sweetie. You’re going to be really disappointed. |
Keep your at home then. It’s called homeschool. |
What I can't figure from your posting history...are you a troll or just not very bright? |
You mean the low-income people in South Africa that didn't have access to a vaccine? Or are you just trying to find blame with people that disagree with you? |
You still don't get it. People won't decide when to close schools. The virus will decide when to close schools. You can swear until you're blue in the face that you'll still be sending your kid to school no matter what, but if he's stuck in a mixed-grade class with a sub who doesn't teach the syllabus, because too many students and teachers are out, you'll wish he was learning something in virtual. |
Seriously. NEW POST: Delta variant running wild! They’re going to close schools! Poster: Nope. Hogan needs to give the green light on that and he won’t. Plus virtual days don’t count toward the required 180 instruction days. NEW POST: Hospitals are nearing capacity! We need to shut down schools! Poster: Nope. Hogan needs to give the green light on that and he won’t. Plus virtual days don’t count toward the required 180 instruction days. NEW POST: Omg Omicron! Schools need to go virtual! Poster: Nope. Hogan needs to give the green light on that and he won’t. Plus virtual days don’t count toward the required 180 instruction days. NEW POST: All colleges and private schools moving to virtual. MCPS is next! Poster: Nope. Hogan needs to give the green light on that and he won’t. Plus virtual days don’t count toward the required 180 instruction days. Etc, etc, etc… |
