Thanks. So in my DC's letter, the description of the score says that DC needs challenging and advanced materials to study in 7 different points. Is this description also given in your 2nd grader letter from FCPS? |
May be Madison pyramid that particular school has a cogat composite of 143. I saw another poster had 142 Madison pyramid and was in pool. Yours must be a high SES school than that poster, both schools in Madison pyramid though. |
Notice 2401 did actually say the central office determined the pool… |
The PP who said central office figured out the pool is corroborated by FCPS docs. |
But the NNAT was 160, which is the highest possible score. Are they not using the NNAT to determine in-pool this year? |
Is your child 2nd grader? I mean...this just sounds crazy. |
| NNAT was not considered even in the past. Cogat is the determining test since it tests verbal and math also. My DC also has very strong NV skills but unfortunately NNAT is not valuable, the independent consultant recommended to entirely remove this from testing. |
We received it in the mail today. Hopefully you’ll get it in the next day or two! |
Perhaps not weighted heavily, but NNAT was still used in past years to determine in-pool. |
Yes, those are high scores. 160 and 142, combined means a child is above 99.6 percentile. The process has no transparency and it ridiculous. |
NNAT was used to determine who was in-pool. |
| From this year, only cogat is being considered. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get ride of NNAT soon. |
