Oh. Ok! Thanks. |
Means they figured out how all the kids did in fall 2017, nation wide, relative to age and used that to determine this year's scores. No renorming to deal with Covidtide. |

Cogat scores are now posted on SIS.
The order is quantitative, non verbal and verbal. Does that mean the sub sections are important in this order? Is the composite score the average of the 3 sub sections? |
I'm sure the order of the scores is not significant. Some have argued that the quantitative score is most important but, even if true, I highly doubt it would be listed first for that reason. The composite is not an average. I don't recall exactly how they calculate it. |
No. For example, a child could score 134 on all 3 subsections but get a 140 composite. This is because it is more difficult to get all 3 scores that high so the overall score will take that into account. |
| FYI, the above is an actual example from one of my children's CogAT scores in the past. |

Hi,
We are new to the area and my son is in 6 grade. We haven't received any email regarding in pool or not in pool. CogAt score 143. all receive an email regardless of the grade? kids have only one chance to take this test? |
| When are going to actually notify that if the kid is selected or not? |
Pool emails are only for 2nd graders. |
In April. |
Thanks, do you know when they notify the one that are not in second grade? |
There is no pool for 6th grade, you have to apply. |
Did you submit a parent referral form to your school? If so, your child will be considered for AAP, and you'll be informed of the result sometime in April. If you did not submit a parent referral form, your child will not be considered for AAP. |
