Especially because school systems aren't teaching all kids to read, write, and do arithmetic. Instead of making progress on a problem that seems nearly intractable, they pretend and pat themselves on the back.

Not PP, but I read that not as something about her as a person, but about the system. The system has this equity office to make them look like they are doing something. However the district's own internal reports (https://go.boarddocs.com/vsba/fairfax/Board.nsf/files/C8P5VJ1216D9/$file/DL%20Rpt%203.pdf)showed achievement gaps widening significantly during William's term. It was nothing to do with her, of course, and everything to do with the pandemic policy response laid down across FCPS. So the system behaved in a white supremacist manner, most likely unintentionally though I have to think knowingly. And Williams was there to make it look less bad.
