omg. No one is saying they don't care about what their kids do in general, people are saying that they wouldn't care (or even know) if their kid skipped class to do something as cool as going to Italy for a weekend.

A mother who needed "every detail" of what I wore and ate while abroad would drive me insane, sorry.
