Still throwing that tantrum, huh?

So irrational.

Lol so irrational that a Republican is now governor because of it. PP, if you are representative of the type of denial Dems are living in we all better get ready for a Republican president in 2024.

30% of NOVA going red + all of RVA going red = a red state. Enjoy.

I mean, I hope you enjoy the mess of an agenda you've voted into office. I'll be happy inside the beltway, where not much of my life is going to change.

Trump is the reason we have the vaccine in such a short time.

He also said get the vaccine and still says get the vaccine.

Flat out lies. Trump’s incompetence actually delayed the vaccine by 8-10 months.

And he has NEVER told anyone to get vaccinated. Not even once.

You are a lying liar.

It is school, just not the CRT stuff or vaccine or mask mandates. They’re angry that schools stayed closed for as long as they did and that the Democrats seemed dismissive of parents’ concerns about the resulting disruption and learning loss. I certainly understand their concerns but they do come off a bit self centered… like all that matters is them and their family, not the healthcare workers or teachers or the medically vulnerable. I think Democrats’ biggest mistake wasn’t necessarily closing schools, but for not showing more concern about the fallout now. Terry couldn’t even manage to fake it. He just didn’t connect with suburban women as much as he needed to.

Yes, we all know this is why Youngkin won suburban moms who previously voted Democratic. Why is this such big news to this Pamela lady? Everybody else knew this.

McAuliffe was just a boring, uninspiring candidate. If we'd had someone young, fresh, more progressive, they would have won.

You still don't seem to get it. There is now a backlash to your "progressive" movement. It's not selling.

This. How do Dems not see that the progressive wing of their party is extremely unappealing to moderates and independents, i.e. the voters they need in order to win elections in purple states?!

As much as you want that narrative to be true, this election was not decided by moderates and independents, these people are not the ones that swung the election. MORE people voted in this election than ever before. The majority of them were from the southern, rural regions. Republicans (most of them invigorated by the Trump movement) came out in full force, like presidential election-level full force, and there were simply more of them than Democrats. If Democrats had run an Obama-type candidate, perhaps they would have inspired more young voters and minority voters who skipped this election to come out and vote.

Citation? I’ve not seen a single source that has suggested this election was lost because the Trumpys showed up in force. It was because all those moderates who went for Biden because they couldn’t stand Trump found that they could tolerate and even support Youngkin. McAuliffe lost ground in all of the NoVa suburbs compared to what Biden drew last year, percentages and number of votes. Dems are always going to lose big in the rural areas, and they can’t make up that deficit when they aren’t winning big in the suburbs.

Obama voter, Biden voter here.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Youngkin gives me the same energized vibes that Obama gave me. I think he will be a force to be beat in the 2024 election.

Sorry that doesn't help you but if I'm right - the Dems are screwed. Because the man is good, damned good.

Terry said: IDK but that wasn't me. And to show you just how much I care I'm bringing on stage the AFT head who made it happen. Round of a applause ladies and gentlemen!

You're on the DCUM boards. All of us live 'inside' the beltway. Other than that I know a lot of unhappy MC parents who were crying when McAuliffe lost. I'll let you guess why.

I think in FCPS at least, the (Democratic) school board had lots of problems - telling families that schools would open up, only to drop the idea once elections passed. Then going off and doing it all over again. Throwing their tech support staff under the bus over problems of their own creation. Being one of the best-funded school systems in the country, but not being able to implement a credible online education when we first went online. There were plenty of examples of school systems which did a much better job of moving online even with less funding. I think the confluence of a school board which was loudly Democrat but also loudly inept when it counted was something that people noticed.

Exactly. The utter incompetence (and hypocrisy) of the FCPS School Board just underscored how government is never going to be able to solve all the problems the progressives are always teeing up government to take on. When they can’t even do basic things well, why on earth would you entrust them to handle the things that actually are difficult?

DP. You - and your good buddy, Rachel Maddow - are actually the lying liars. We'll wait while you apologize.

Maddow said, "While he was president, President Trump never encouraged Americans to get vaccinated."

Trump expressed confidence in the vaccines and vaccination in many different ways — on Twitter and in public remarks — touting their life-saving potential and saying they would be safe and available to all.

We rate Maddow’s claim False.

Yep. I do think Jennifer McClellan might have won (and done better with women than tired, sleazy Terry). But Jennifer Carroll Foy or Lee Carter would have been completely slaughtered going up against Youngkin.

That's exactly how I feel. I've actually never been as enthused about any candidate before. Maybe Bill Clinton, once upon a time. Youngkin gives me all the feels.

Yes. Moderate here. The party, nationally and locally, went full force into wokeism at 200 MPH. I voted (and heavily supported Biden) for sanity. Tone it down folks. All we wanted was a POTUS who didn't threaten to bomb Denmark at 2AM because they wouldn't sell him Greenland.

I could care less about instituting socialism programs on the national, state, or county level. Stay out of my bank account and my house and I'll be a good citizen and stay out of yours.
